Dandruff in the dough is how you get that flaky crust.

Look for 00 pizza flour, Manitoba 0 flour and type 1 flour at online baking or Italian specialty stores.

Yes I'll get 80 dollars worth of flour to make a crust.  I'll stick to bread flour as it's local and economical.

You can pick that shiat up at Walmart FFS - they got 3lb. bags.  If you don't feel like dressing up or hacking your way through hell, many grocery stores do as well.  If that's too much work, it's readily available online.  It's not 1982 here

/that being said, no you don't need it to make decent pizza

Your pajama bottoms should at least be somewhat clean, you know... no more than 2 stains.

If you can't get your fancy Italian flour at the Dollar Palace you need to put up with the Walmart dress code.

Came here for this, leaving happily.

600 grams of 00 pizza flour is about $4.50, and you'll be lucky if you can buy it in quantities smaller than 3 pounds (which only makes 2 of those farking pizzas, BTW... 600 grams is 1 lb. 5 oz.)

Good luck trying to buy Manitoba 0 or tipo 1 flour in any quantity smaller than a kilo, and for less than $10 a kilo.

Seriously, the only way anyone can afford to do that is to buy those flours in bulk - y'know, like a pizza place - and produce in quantity.

I think I can get it at Whole Foods for about $4 for 1000 grams, but I can't quite remember how much it costs.  I get 4 small Neapolitan pizzas out of it.  I don't make pizzas every day, so it's not really a problem to buy a couple of bags whenever I have a pizza party.  It's not the biggest expense compared to the toppings I use.

For a one time thing it's fine. The article simply seems to be a recipe of a specific pizza featured on the Tucci show.

The tipo 0 and 1 flours aren't common so you'd have to go online or find a specialty shop. But you can easily buy them in standard 2.2lb bags.

Tipo 00 seems to be stocked everywhere these days, also in 2.2lb bags (avg. $4).

Also, this recipe makes 10 personal pizzas.

So all in you're probably looking at $6 in flour for this specific recipe. A bit more than bread flour, but not breaking the bank by any means.

I think the issue is more of it being a pain in the ass to order the specialty flours as well as any differences in cooking this in a home oven vs a high temp wood oven.

Holy hyperbole.  Sure, this will be more expensive than bread or all purpose, but as I mentioned above it's like $6 or so.  It's a pain to source, so yeah, for simply making pizza just use what you can get locally.  But if you're looking to make this specific recipe then it's not super expensive.
