Hable posted about the discovery on the department's Facebook page on Wednesday, but removed the post after Native American officials said publishing photos of the skull was offensive to their culture.

Worried they might get Sioux'd?

I understand that for Native tribal governments they feel like they have to take these sorts of legal/cultural positions or lose ownership of the last unlooted objects in the Americas, but there's no farking way you'll ever convince me that you have ANYTHING more in common, culturally or genetically than I would with a person who lived 8,000-20,000 years ago. Those guys were killed off by the tribal councils' ancestors, who were killed off by yet another group of ancestors, and so on, all the way back to the long trek to the Americas.

Hell, the gene-line of the Souix possibly killed off entire clades of human ancestors who no longer exist in the DNA record, just because their ancestors did such a thorough job of exterminating them.

how long did it take them to drink it, and had it gone flat after all that time?
