Yea, we should just ignore everything someone has done and focus on their play.  Just like the NFL!

Threw away the most productive years of his career and spent time in prison to pay for his crime.

IT'S NEVER ENOUGH!!!! HE SHOULD BE HOMELESS IN SIBERIA FOR ALL OF ETERNITY!!!!!!  HE MUST PAY FOR HIS CRIMES UNTIL THE SUN EXPLODES!

Is anyone actually suggesting Vick has a non-zero chance of making it into Canton?  Even if you ignore everything that happened off the field?

Remember "Twitch Plays Pokemon", where they rigged a script to let people in chat tell the AI what to do next in the video game?   Same basic premise.

Setting aside the fact that he doused a dog in gasoline and set it on fire, he is not HOF caliber.  Kurt Warner was borderline and Kurt had better stats and some Super Bowls.  The NFL thankfully isn't like the NBA HOF.

The Football Hall of Fame doesn't have a character clause in eligibility for induction, unlike the Baseball Hall of Fame, so you set all that aside considering his off-the-field behavior and crimes.  So it's solely based on his performance on the field, and, yeah, I'm not seeing it.  The biggest factor for me is his lack of a Super Bowl ring.  Unless you're Dan Marino, and you just have astounding numbers anyway, or you're Jim Kelly, and got stuck behind two of the greatest dynasties in modern NFL history, lack of a ring for a quarterback is very nearly a disqualifying factor on its own.

even the foxnews report on this incident says nothing about this.

I heard it from the actual FBI agent who headed up the case.  I know you can scoff because I'm just some random guy on the internet, but I went to a talk where the agent talked about it.  He was also told that the ring would electrocute dogs to toughen them up.

Again, there's multiple reasons to dismiss this (I could be making all this shiat up, the FBI agent could, the FBI agent's source could), but I did actually hear it from the agent.

Yeah, no MVPs, no APOY, no All-Pro, 0-1 in conference championships, 2-3 lifetime as a starter in the playoffs.  Super exciting for a couple of years, but that's about it.

/And his crimes took away three full years of him being a starter in his late 20s, so his resume still paid the price

Just because someone has done their time doesn't mean I have to like or forgive them. I'm not going to to have anything to do with a kiddy diddler or forgive them just because they are done with government sanctions. Same with Vick or any other person that tortured animals. fark Michael Vick. Any person that is capable of abusing children, elderly people, or animals is a piece of shiat no matter how much time they spent in prison or how they excuse their past behavior.

I did not.  I just added the disclaimers to make it easier for you to believe what you want to believe.  I don't care either way.

So abusing just regular adults is a-okay then?  Also, I think pretty much everyone is "capable" of doing all of those things.  Maybe save your anger for people that actually do those things.

Yes, Vick is a shiatty human being who isn't going to get in the HoF anyway.  His numbers mostly suck in comparison, except for maybe rushing yards which really isn't a stat you want to hang your hat on as a QB.
