Only going to affect people who get in sweaty contact with other people who have monkeypox. This isn't going to be a wide outbreak.

Particularly those having homosexual sex with them, as previously reported.

The smallpox vaccine isn't new, it isn't "experimental," and we have data on its safety going back literally centuries.

Waiting for what the vaxholes are going to say about it.

Viruses and bacteria can evolve faster than even modern medicine can keep up.  When humanity covers most of the planet and there's a lot of traveling between distant points... we may actually have to at least partially give up and return to the olden days of quarantine - where strangers would have to wait outside the gates until the locals were confident enough they didn't carry any illness to let them in.

It'll suck if you want to go on a vacation somewhere you find exotic, since you're going to eat up a week on either end sitting in a room waiting to be released, but it would stop pandemics pretty much in their tracks.

Unless we get the strain  which can be spread by respiratory droplets. That would be bad.

Same thing they said about it last time. That it was tyranny. It didn't work. It was a plot to kill people. That the disease would just go away. That it was against their religious beliefs.

No. I'm not talking about COVID. I'm talking about the anti-vaccine societies during the 20th century that opposed wiping out smallpox

Getting diseases from monkeys
Yeah, that's what I said
They're getting diseases from monkeys
Now, there's junkies with monkey disease
Who's touching these monkeys?
Please, leave these poor sick monkeys alone
They've got problems enough as it is

Let him keep it, don't give him the vaccine and we can find out how long it takes to turn him into a full-blown monkey, then we can start a zoo

Just don't tell people not to lock strangers' faces or anything stupid. If they aren't now, some of them will start.

So, first the article says it's 1% fatal.

Then it says no one has died of it to date.
It also mentions that there's only a few dozen confirmed infections, most recent (so still active, so those people have neither recovered nor died).

Uhhh, Daily Fail? How the fark do you know the fatality rate yet with that data?

Because this virus has been around for a long time and there are statistics from past outbreaks.

Seems like Grindr will be a much more widely used contact tracing app than any of the bullshiat that the states and CDC put out during COVID.

For anyone stuck on the "oh it's only deadly ___% of the time" about ANY virus:
When the lab coats about are worried about peope getting sick, it's because of what some viral infections can lead to down the road.
The funny thing about viruses is that they can cause chronic health problems. Some, many years down the line. Some super common viruses are a huge contributing factor to certain types of cancers. Serious ones attack vital organs and leave long lasting damage.
There are many people that don't fully recover after a serious viral infection, but aren't counted in the mortality rates because they didn't die. Though, their lives and bodies are never the same afterwards.
Just because it won't kill you now, doesn't mean it won't get to you eventually in some way. It's really not a game worth playing, if you can help it. You don't just endanger yourself, but those around you when you spread any illness.

The disease existed before whites got it in Western countries.

Sounds like everyone should make sure that they have at least three weeks of toilet paper on hand at all times.
Many folks may need to buy more.

I was at the zoo a few weeks ago. There were two monkeys lying on the grass, one was gently probing the other one's anus with a stick. I'm not saying it's for me, but they seemed to be enjoying themselves.

One of the recent people taken to a hospital was a kid.

I'm reasonably certain they weren't having sex.

Until the Reds ban all such apps / activities, justified by the false threat of pedophilia.
