Indy QUALIFYING is on the mothership, and NASCAR's All-Star race is on FS1.  I think I'll start caring about NASCAR again when it starts caring about itself.

The speeds on Friday with the high winds were insane.  243mph entering turn 3.  I am very surprised there weren't wrecks.

The merc record setter set trap speeds of 250.

Well, Sato was supposed to be in the warm up lanes on the inside when he saw Marco on his warm up laps. So Marco had a right to complain.

Power with two near crashes in the south chute, 231.534 for his run

Would you be saying the same thing if Sato crashed into him? It's reasonable for a driver to not expect another car to pass by him on track warming up for his qualifying run. Even if you're sick of him, there's a point where you have to say that complaining about something is reasonable.

Sato was low on the track. He wasn't in the warmup lane, so sure, Taku was wrong. There were no dramatic steering inputs, no apparent danger. It's Marco showing, again, he doesn't have the mental game to hack it.

how did Grosjean save that? he was sideways

2022-05-22 4:18:57 PM
I think the effect of the tire compressing the air saved Grosjean from hitting the wall.  That was close

Many moons ago Greg Moore pulled a power slide at 220 at one of the superspeedways. Can't member which.

Translation: you refuse to let some sense overrule your Marco hate.

Listen, I'm not a fan of Marco either; but watch it again (NBC tweeted the clip out, you can find it). Taku wasn't low. He was closer to Marco than he was to the bottom of the track. If he wasn't careful, he could've clipped Marco's car.

Easy killer. I'd been a fan of the whole family for years. My beef with them now is not for this forum.

I said Sato was in the wrong. Don't know why that's a problem for you. Marco's inability to recover from a curveball thrown at him shows a lack of mental toughness.

If you don't think that something like that won't fark up anyone, considering the focus necessary to do an Indy qualifying run at 230+; I don't know what to tell you.

Daedalus27: Amazingly quick times for qualifying all around

2nd fastest qualifying run ever, behind Arie Luyendyk's 236.986 in 1996. But that run came on the 2nd day of qualifying, back when the pole was decided on day 1 of 4 qualifying days. So Dixon's run is the fastest pole run in Indy 500 history.
