So now I can't visit for free with my national parks pass? Okay. I'll happily give my money to the tribes instead, and maybe stop in Arlee for some weed. And definitely stop in Arlee for the Buddha Garden.

Cool, good to hear.

We spent a week or so there in the early '70s.  A grad school friend studied the respiratory physiology of pronghorn and bison.  We were there to help him collect pronghorn.  Based on our later experience with bison, I'm glad that the ranch hands were the one who gathered the orphan bison calves for him.

Just kidding. Good for them.

Now let's give large tracts of the Mountain/Plains West that isn't suited for the stuff Whitepeople do (like cattle ranching and high irrigation farming) back to the Native people so they can restore the bison herds to some of their past glory.
And screw those White ranchers who think it's their birth right to do what ever the hell they want , and often on Public Lands

"said Louie McDonald, a ceremony attendee."

"said Tom McDonald CSKT Tribal Chairman. "

I think they'd be better off trying to reclaim the Golden Arches.

Next week, ranchers will be shooting them claiming that bison eat their cattle.

Har Har...

No, next week they'll be shaking down the ranchers for big money to let their cattle graze.

THEN the ranchers will start shooting.

Around Yellowstone, they had controlled hunts to keep the bison from spreading brucellosis to the cattle grazing outside the Park.   Not sure if that still happens.

When we were at the Bison Range, they vaccinated all of  the bison for brucellosis...except one.  There was one very ornery bull that they hadn't been able to corral and get into their massive squeeze chute.

Your statement makes no sense.

So when the Native people ask the ranchefs for money, it's a shakedown, but when the ranchers want more land, it's "small business can't survive without subsidies"? Got it. I hope the Native people charge the ranchers up their asses. Bout time for some payback.

The NA's got 19,000 acres of nowhere, three miles north of "where the fark are we?"

I really don't give a rat's ass what they do with it.

So, you want to have anal sex with some rancher because they want to stop a disease with no effective vaccine is available for humans. ?
