Never heard about or seen any such products in Australia. Only know of them from American media. Wondering if such 'meat products' are just an American thing or if just isn't talked about here.

How about no?  It's centrifuged and separated beef trimming bits sterilized with ammonium hydroxide - has farkall to do with any chicken product.  It's used as a filler and extender for ground beef products and some pet food - the problem was it showing up in burgers, not nuggets

Shrug - everyone's got their thing.  I don't eat beef or organ meats, because they taste like shiat to me no matter what you do to them.  Eat what you want to eat, don't eat what you don't

/within the bounds of sane health anyway

Before I saw the photo, I thought it was going to be one of the "rendering" truck.

Forty or so years ago, I was 70 feet up on a swing stage (hanging scaffold) on Main St. when one of those passed below.  I think the glimpse that I got of the contents will stay with me forever:  bloated  dead cows, meat trimmings, road kill, etc. The photo from TFA was almost a relief.

You have Spam in Australia, which is labeled as a "potted meat product" in the US.

Just means that it's heavily processed.
