As someone who has had a vasectomy, it's really not that big a deal.  I find it way less absurd than regulating women's reproduction.  Especially in a way that results in more unwanted children, rather than fewer.

The goal should be 100% intentional, consensual conception. You want to leave it up to God?  Fine.  Supposedly God is omnipotent, so if He wills it, He should have no problem getting past an IUD and cauterized vas deferens.

From a different article:

"I would invite you to co-author a bill that I'm considering next year that would mandate that each male, when they reach puberty, get a mandatory vasectomy that's only reversible when they reach the point of financial and emotional stability," he told GOP lawmakers.
"If you think that's crazy then I think that maybe you understand how 50 percent of Oklahomans feel, as well," the Democrat said.

That's not fair. Vasectomies are orders of magnitude safer. Make them spin a prize wheel too.

I knew a couple that had happened to. He'd had a vasectomy and her tubes were tied, but that baby just HAD to get born.

Honestly we should be mandating all people get vasectomies or tubes tied, if the people are not part of the breeding caste.

At the age of 16 people should be made to declare their intentions to be breeders and then they have to stay healthy and off drugs.  They have to be upright citizens.  They have to do what is ideal to raise progeny.  Everybody else gets sterilized and tracked into worker caste or military caste.  But they get to do things the breeders cannot.

In breeding caste, they pump out as many quality offspring as possible.  With the government arranging the gamete pairings to produce the best chance for the desired types of offspring.  Such as a projected need for military caste.  Or specfic types of worker caste.  Or if the government identifies unique traits, such as if a breeder constantly produces larger litters.  Track that breeder into experimental development for offspring that can eventually be line bred into brood queens.

It's not about *having* a vasectomy. He's comparing government regulation of women's healthcare to mandated vasectomies. Do you have the right to choose your healthcare?

Uh no. Only getting one vasectomy is useless. Men have TWO testicles. You need a vasectomy on both sides. That's 2. Also, women have 2 ovaries, and each one is full of eggs. So not only do you have to have 2 tube ties, but you have to jiggle them a lot to make the eggs fall out just to make sure. Like how sex jiggles them and just one egg falls off the cervical spine? You get them off the cervical spine (which leads to the cervix) and tie the tubes.

Do you even know what vasect means?

Disect - Cut twice. Because they used murder victim cadavers, the doctors used to think of their knives as the second cu.

Bisect - Cut in 2.

Trisect - Cut in 3, like a triceratops with it's 3 skull knives.

Quadrecept - Cut in 4, like the quad muscle of the leg is in 4 parts.

Vasect - Cut 5 times, like the Roman numeral V or "va".

It has nothing to do with mandating that you impregnate. That would be "insect" the Latin word for cutting and putting a maggot inside.

I suppose. They were both in their 40s and had no particular reason to lie TO ME about the nature of their relationship. And it was 30+ years ago so there's no way to prove it one way or another. Given the time frame, it's far more likely that one or the other of them had had a faulty procedure and just hadn't realized it during the intervening periods, but y'all can believe what you like.

Nature finds a way.

Friend of the family knocked up his girlfriend.  She didn't know he had had a vasectomy, so he accused her of cheating.  She denied it, big yelling match, he dumped her.  I don't know if she had the kid or not.  A year later he said something to the doctor about it and the doc said it's possible the vasectomy "healed".  So they tested his wiggly output and yeah, he knocked up the girlfriend and dumped her because of his suspicions and insecurity.  Woops.  I think she dodged a bullet.

I remember my Sex Ed class. It covered a lot about how menstruation can be painful, pregnancy and milk production means mammaries grow and often quickly so it's painful, then they get heavier and that adds to back issues, it triggers hormonal responses within the body and not just moods, giving birth and how it can break the pelvic bone, and then there was the idea of pushing the watermelon out of a tiny hole. And that's just to name a few. I won't go into what it does with hair, bones, immune systems, or otherwise.

But any moran who thinks pregnancy is painless and women are the same afterwards needs a boot to the head. Preferrably steel-toed and pointy, and to the head he thinks with rather than the one sitting on top of his neck. :)

Ok... I LOVED that. But holy shiat, that first line made expect a full-throated, anti abortion stance. That kind of opening salvo is very common with former friends and exes in Mormon areas who drank the KoolAid. Instead of trying to gently drift right, she turned left so fast I'm going to need a neck brace.

Thank you for posting it.

Except it's bullshiat because it's not guaranteed reversible. Heck after three years it drops to 50% successful reversal so quit pretending it's anything other than completely ignorant stupidity.

Dude.
I know. I have a friend who reversed and it was brutal, expensive, not guaranteed, and there's no way he could have done it if he had not been healthy, wealthy, and white.

But this isn't about that. It's about a politician monkeying around and trying to make a point.

You can have fun sometimes, yeah?

When my step-dad got his snip, there was another dude in there he was talking to. Dude got the snip years before, met his wife who didn't want kids either, and after a while she ended up pregnant. After a bout of "you cheated on me" vs. "you lied about getting it done", dude got tested and found his parts grew back together. Dr. was re-doing the procedure for free, but no word on helping pay for their new "bundle of joy"!
