The Preakness was run without Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike after his owner prioritized extra rest over the chance at winning the Triple Crown.

If he rests he may run better in the Belmont. If he runs well at that race he has a good career at spunk delivery I assume.

We lost, so someone must have cheated.

I was born in Bellerose, NY, very close to Belmont race track.  Every year, I look back to when I was a 16 We had always walked down to the flea market. When the horses were running, we would go a have breakfast and watch the horses workout. There were also show horses tiny ponies and a petting zoo. It was so cool for me and my then boyfriend, now husband to wander around. We were in our jeans and sneakers, wile others were suits and fancy dresses it was strange, but fun

Possibly, I don't know enough about that process. The resting makes sense to me.

I would think any Kentucky Derby winner would be a prime spunking source to begin with.

He already passed the blood test.  They take blood from the horses at the race and they announced a day or 2 after that it was clean.  His owner did an interview on NPR the week following the Kentucky Derby explaining that it was always the plan not to run the Preakness because Rich Strike ran longer races better and they wanted to give him more rest.  It was quite evident from the Derby that he's not a short track horse.

/The owner did say that he was very tempted to run him in the Preakness after the win
//but the trainer and vet recommended they stick with the plan.
///The jockey was suspended, though, for Careless Riding at an earlier race
