FTFA: Let's just hope Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Finn Jones, Jon Bernthal, Rosario Dawson, Jessica Henwick, Simone Missick, and the rest of the Netflix crew are on Kevin Feige's "To Call" list.

Uh, no. Not unless they reboot Iron Fist and the first episode has that same scene of Danny talking to Colleen and foolishly stepping into New York traffic... only this time instead of leaping over the car, he gets run down. As he lies dying in the street he tells Colleen that she has to take on the mantle of Iron Fist, even though she has absolutely no idea what she is doing.

That way, (a) the audience gets to learn alongside Colleen what the backstory here is (the Netflix series assumed way too much audience knowledge/interest) and (2) we get a decent Iron Fist.

Besides which, they're on the third floor. I just looked. It's only like 3 minutes into the movie. When Pete and MJ swing back to the apartment and enter the window, they're on the 3rd floor.

Finn Jones was never the problem with Iron Fist. It was always the writing and direction. That was a Scott Buck wreck, not a Finn Jones wreck. The marked improvement in season 2 made that clear, too. He, and the show in general, were much better.

I've got no issues with them bringing Jones back. Just give him better writing and more time to prepare for the physicality of the role, which is something he didn't have in the rushed first season. He'd be fine.

He has the physicality of a Memorial Day picnic Jell-o backed the charisma of roadkill. Mind you, I'm impressed that you stuck around beyond the first couple of episodes.

And then there's the entire "white savior" premise of the entire character, which was not helped by the recurring whitesplaining in the first few episodes.

Which is weird cuz after they are in the apartment the shot on TV showing the helicopters and them looking out the window makes it around the 7th floor.   I only said 26 to be extra snarky.   it was still a cool scene tho.

"That's right, everyone, I'm back! I know they'd chosen someone else, but after Morbius, legal action was taken to ensure I never play any other role ever besides the Doctor. Still, it could be worse. Jared Leto was reclassified as a hazardous substance, sealed up in a metal barrel, and fired into the sun! Or at least I believe that's what happened. There were certainly enough petitions signed."

Just took a look again just for shiats and giggles -- this is not some important or serious debate! -- and it looks like a six-story building. The depiction IS inconsistent. When they enter, they're on the 3rd. The exterior shots a minute or so after make it look like they're on the 5th or 6th. Hard to tell exactly, but yes, they seem higher up when the choppers arrive.

But here's your No-Prize:

The rooftops across the street are filled with people looking on when the choppers are there, so that's where the brick came from when Matt was on hand. Someone tossed it from the roof across the street. Ta-da!

Send me a No-Prize!

I think it was a mess on everyone's part. The stunt coordinator has said repeatedly that Jones refused to train for fight scenes, and that's why Henwick had more action sequences.

Jones definitely earned a share of the blame for what a mess that show was.

It doesn't make him a bad actor, it just means he sucked in the role.

As far as Marvel TV shows go, Iron Fist is better than Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The opening action sequence of Falcon and the Winter Soldier was better than any action scene in the entire run of Iron Fist. Or the rest of FatWS for that matter. And the blood on the shield was an image that provoked more emotion than anything Danny Rand did.

Otherwise I kinda see it though FatWS was shortened and changed due to the pandemic while the writing on Iron Fist had no excuse.

That IS a hot take! Scorching, really.

I actually enjoyed season 2 of Iron Fist, and the ending somehow made me want more, which I didn't think was possible after the slog of the first season.

But I'd still rank Iron Fist near the bottom of all MCU shows. Even a lot of Runaways was better, and that was for teens.

I enjoyed FAWS. You can kind of feel that they had to rewrite pandemic stuff in the middle and the climactic speech was a bit ham-fisted, so it had a few bumps, but I loved spending more time with Sam and Bucky, and seeing Sam decked out as Cap was a delight.

(What would be below Iron Fist? Inhumans, clearly. That's at the bottom. I was lukewarm on Cloak & Dagger, but at least it tried to be good. And it's probably sacrilege, but I did not enjoy either season of Punisher. First three episodes of season 2 were great, the rest was really bad. First season was okay, but just okay. I want to see Punisher murdering mobsters, not caught up in a government conspiracy.)

This is going to blow your mind, but there's even different quality levels of actual garbage. Some of it's recyclable or even fully salvagable, while the nastier stuff is only good for burying or flushing away. As it happens, assjuice firmly lands in the second category.

I loved the casting and action and plot in the Daredevil show, glad to see that actor retained. I also was totally blown away by Jessica Jones first season.

A quibble about Hawkeye... whatever happened between Echo and Kingpin at the end, happens off-camera. You hear a gunshot, but there is no definitive proof in that episode that she kills Kingpin, he kills her, or that anyone killed anybody. The shot could have been one of those dramatic whizz-by-the-ear things, or a deliberate . it could have been a non-lethal wound. Could have come from a third party we don't know. It's open-ended, and I liked that it was.

She for sure didn't kill him. If you don't see it on screen, assume he's alive.

And this is right from the comics, too.

They always change things from the comics, but they do borrow from them, so POTENTIAL SPOILERS for future Kingpin appearances, because I suspect this is a story arc they'll be borrowing from:

SPOILERS
In the comics, Echo shoots Kingpin, but doesn't kill him. Instead, she blinds him. A weakened Kingpin is then seen as vulnerable, and an underboss attempts to usurp his throne.

No, Finn was definitely a problem... he was the IRON GODDAMN FIST and his fight scenes were the biggest dumpster fire. Watching Jessica Jones flail around with 0 fight training in Defenders was infinitely more watchable than anything Finn did. Also, no matter what the scene, he came off as this pompous whiny biatch that was owed respect despite having done nothing to prove that he deserved or earned it. That may be somewhat of a directing issue, but seriously, Finn's Iron Fist sucked. Hard.

I've tried watching these streaming D&D sessions, such as Critical Role and all that, and discovered that despite being a longtime player I'm just NOT into it.

Despite that, I did watch a short session she ran. Admittedly, at first I only watched because she's easy on the eyes, but I KEPT watching because she was good and I found myself getting into the scene. Good storytelling and scene-setting chops. I'd definitely play under her.

Take that last bit as you will.

WITH JON BERNTHAL!

He even said he'd come back and do it, but they had to do it right. The man is such a good actor I trust his judgement. Netflix didn't deserve it, but Disney+ is doing well enough they can throw enough money at it to make it work.

I get why Netflix wouldn't opt for season 3 when Disney was taking over, but WE DESERVE SEASON 3!

I'll mostly agree with others here regarding Iron Fist.

I watched both seasons and pretty much everything was bad or was a reason why it was bad.

Colleen was the saving grace for the show.  I was interested in a season 3 mainly because of her.  I never understood how Iron Fist could have trained for decades and yet was getting beat up by others so easily and had to train under Colleen...<shrugs>

Then again it was a eyeroll worthy stuff in season 2 of DD, Matt finally learning that he can listen/hear the enemies breathe...like....duuuhh...

I liked all the Netflix shows and the actors playing the characters were all good to great (IF excluded of course).
