A world without passive-aggressive shoulder-surfing middle managers?

That's not going to increase dividends for the stockholders!

What do you think Work From Home has been for me, Subby?

FTFA: Twilio CEO Jeff Lawson imagines that rather than have offices in each city where his firm employs a cluster of workers, he could just open a coffee shop where employees could work and gather.

It feels like that would just be two things run poorly instead of just one.

How in the world did the Spiffy tag beat out the Stupid tag?

So instead of getting free coffee at the office I gotta go and pay here?

Are they supposed to shoot up at home?

If I didn't have to go to work, I wouldn't need to shoot up.

So it's going to be like a study group in college?  Neat.

I'm imagining a future where someone just creates fake jobs that forces employees to sit in the corporate coffee shop all day and spend their money.

Pay your drones $15/hr and make them sit in the shop where they spend $5/hr on drinks.  Net pay $10/hr.

Or make them buy gas @ $6 a gallon and pay for parking.

My office is two adjacent 10 floor towers.  Starbucks/Costco merger?

Americans are funny people. The distance and difference between the people who are actually f**king them over and ruining their lives, and the people they choose to hate and fear, is almost infinite.
It's like they choose to hate and fear the polar opposites of their actual enemies.
Maybe they are too scared to face their real enemies, because their real enemies have real power.
