(rubs hands together)  Good, good!

Perhaps they were trying to lie to him about their losses, but they couldn't hide how many dead generals there are.

Losing faith in his generals? His eyesight must be gone if there's no mention of the expired rations, shoddy equipment, and mountains of dead soldiers. And that's just on the frontlines, never mind all the problems back in Russia.

He's welcome to visit the front lines inside Ukraine.. with his cell phone on.

The artillery burst will not leave enough of a corpse to bury.

The same Putin who reportedly micromanages the war don't trust his generals when Putin's perfect plan fails?

Hmmm.. that reminds me of someone else....

Could we fast forward to where the dictator shoots himself in a bunker, before his body is burned in a pit? Please?

How about more troops just throw them into the meat grinder like an armed mob to rape and plunder.

Russia has generals left who Ukraine haven't killed yet?

They must have just been promoted yesterday.

Perhaps most notably, Valeriy Gerasimov, the chief of the Russian General Staff - a position roughly analogous to the U.S. chairman of the Joint Chiefs - remains in his post but, British intelligence believes, "it is unclear whether he retains the confidence of President Putin."

If he finds himself getting thrown from a helicopter, I really hope he retains the presence of mind to at least bellow his last name as he plummets to his death.

This reminds me, who would you want to be in a fight, the girl from Little Miss Sunshine, or the bumblebee girl from Blind Melon? Think Streefighter 2 style mashup, and the level background could be the stage for Sparklemotion. (obviously it only goes to a KO, this isn't Mortal Kombat).

Other random backgrounds could include:

The dancing from Charlie Brown's Christmas with flying Snoopy strafe attack if the players stand still too long (damage equivalent to one high kick);

Dirty Dancing "Time of My Life" stage with audiences oohs and aahs for combo moves;

Barney and Friends schoolyard where Barney or Baby Bop eat a dancing kid when you break a combo;

Gene Gene the Dancing Machine's Gong Show stage, Gene only dances if one player scores a perfect round;

The Muppet Babies playroom, players can high punch the closet door to open it up to a train, a stampede, or a TIE fighter, that runs over the other player stunning them for 3 seconds;

The rainy street from Singing in the Rain, if a player can match Gene Kelly's kick-punch-kick-punch pattern for 5 seconds, it starts raining and the ground becomes so slippery that there is no standing still for the rest of the round.

The fark ups on in the war and Eastern Front in particular weren't all totally down to Hitler, many of those boys messed up as well.
The difference is they lived to write their memoirs of the Eastern campaign and were not unsurprisingly keen to shove the majority of the blame on 'Dolf.

And their fan clubs perpetrate their blame deflecting to today. Particularly that of the marshal who should have ended up at the end of a bar as the man crying into his stein.

The sad thing about this? Even IF they had committed the money for this invasion towards steps to reform business practices and government contracting, it still wouldn't make a damn bit of difference, since the rot goes all the way from top down. It's now a fully operative kleptocracy, and EVERYONE is on the take. It's the sort of corruption that Western corporations dream of here, only without the control of boardrooms, and instead placing the ultimate control in a bunch of thugs and thieves who can't even trust each other. Warehouses are looted by their own staff, by the very guards who are supposed to protect the stuff, by the very folks who are supposed to inventory it even.

It's a fizzle away from spiraling into failed state status, and the ONLY thing holding it together are thugs and criminals who threaten and bribe their way into compliance, and IF you took them out of the picture, more would only pop up, because THAT is their mode of governance now. Even IF you have regime change, and a whole new government and administration, it won't keep the corrupt from subverting it, quietly, in the warehouses, on the streets, and everyone will demand their taste before a new government will form. The whole thing is just the vision of corruption that American corporations long for, because THEY have the idea that they can control it.

Russia should be the example of how badly a State can fall. Be the warning. And instead, it's only drawing those who envision of how high up they could live if only they could toss out the laws and just thug-life their way through all the pesky laws and rigamarole of civility and a working justice system.

Management 101: Delegate what you don't know, and trust them.

My CEO usually defers to me on marketing. I'd never tell him what to do on finance issues. And so on.

But pride comes before the fall to CEOs and world leaders who think they are geniuses at everything.
