That's a trick question subby. Not fair.

Okay. Fine. Let's say it's mental illness.  You'll be advocating for increased spending on mental healthcare and implore Congress to pass a law to give free mental healthcare away.  Go ahead. You have all the answers, Tucker.   This one is a no-brainer... That is, unless you're lying to us.

Once again, hate is not a mental illness. Anger is not a mental illness. Yes, these are mental health issues, but to mislabel these terrorist murders as the result of mental illness both denies the clear political and social agenda behind it and unjustly vilifies people who struggle with genuine mental illness.

Carlson criticized the bill, stating that it doesn't define the term "White supremacy" and claimed that repeating the words of Martin Luther King Jr. could get a person deemed a White supremacist.

Of course he did. White supremacists love to take a few selected quotes from Martin Luther King out of context. It suits their agenda to invoke the name of the most highly respected leader of the civil rights movement in order to try to convince people that he wanted oppressed minorities to respond with patience and passivity.

They never go beyond their favourite lines, mind you. That might undermine their message a bit.

Jokes on us America, even if this hateful bigot who specifically picked black people to murder was also suffering from mental illness, Republicans wouldn't lift a goddamned finger to do anything about that either.

Regan made sure of that!

The shooter's manifesto could have been written by Tucker Carlson himself.

I am so very tired of all this hate.

The Swanson Dauphin wants to preemptively put as much distance between himself and the murderer as possible lest authorities start looking at him as an accessory.

Funny. He literally repeated word for word right wing talking points.  Some directly from Tucker. It's almost like Tucker will always deny it unless the killers state "I killed all these people because Tucker Carlson told me I should"

Yeah, comments like these from Tucker are just useless mouth noises.  They mean nothing beyond "I don't support anything that might make these terrorists work harder".

Tucker could spend 30 minutes reading precipitation reports for Death Valley, and it would be as significant.

I really wish that when the right starts screaming "mental health" about mass shootings, especially the mass shootings where the shooter parrots their narratives; Democrats should write up a bill for universal mental healthcare for all Americans. Either we will get a much needed service for the American people, or the GOP will be exposed as being full of shiat regarding the mental health argument.

before Fox News and the removal of the fairness in broadcasting act this wasn't such a problem. Oh sure there were nutjobs out there but they didn't have their own media empires.

Exposed to whom? Everyone already knows they are full of crap, it's just that their supporters don't care.

It's war to them, so lying and deceiving the enemy is just doing what's necessary to save the country from socialism.

This is a good idea because we do need universal mental healthcare.

However, it will not shame the right.  Instead they will scream about how the government is going to teach you to be a sheeple.

And then say there's a mental health care crisis the next time there's a shooting like this.

Worse yet, they had the gall to stand up in a room full of people and argued:

"This bill glaringly ignores the persistent domestic terrorism threat from the radical left in this country and instead makes the assumption that it is all on the white and the right,"

The Republican Party is a national threat.

The following are not signs of being dependent on the Government
Getting SSDI while a Republican
Getting SSI if you consistently vote Republican and watch Fox News
Farm Subsidies unless you are a person of color
Receiving Medicare while being a Fox News watcher
FHA mortgage(as long as you are White)
Getting electricity from the Tennessee Valley Authority
Grazing cattle on Federal land

I get why you wrote this because there is already too much stigma attached to mental illness to add on fascism.

However, thought distortions and personality disorders are real, as is magical thinking (at least, they are real in the sense of having clinical definitions and applications).

So mass murderer Darrell Brooks of Waukesha infamy was just mentally ill? And not driven by racism? But the Buffalo nut job was sound of mind and personally motivated by Bow tie boy?

Brooks not only posted anti-Semitic rants on social media but also called for violence against police & white people. Add that he was released in an absurdly low bail before committing the mass murders and it's no wonder he's never mentioned by the left.

"The man accused of careening his SUV into a Wisconsin parade, killing six people and injuring more than 60 others, was a registered sex offender in Nevada and had an active arrest warrant in that state, court records show.
He was also released on bond this month after allegedly running over a woman who said she's the mother of his child earlier this month, according to court documents."

If someone considers themselves to be of a superior (race, species, intelligence etc) or reduces people of other (races, species, intellect) to be inherently inferior to the point of violence, that in itself is a thought disorder and therefore a symptom of mental illness. It should be a natural part of the Justice System to have the legal authority to ban people from owning firearms who demonstrate a consistent pattern of abusive, violent or extremist ideologies or behaviors such as murdering the neighbors cats or attacking kids riding their bikes through the neighborhood or driving a car like a lunatic.

If, say, that is a substantial and measurable percentage of people who should never, ever be allowed at the controls of a motor vehicle of any type, (as everyone who commutes knows) it would follow that there is probably a similar percentage of people who should never be allowed to put their hands on a firearm. And yet, those people are still allowed to drive a car, and many of the other folks are allowed to purchase and own a firearm without restrictions.
