Does anyone actually follow this league? I watched about a quarter or two the second week and left it on as background noise while I did other things. I saw a little last week when it ran over waiting for Duncanville to start.

Between all games in the same place now and no fans in the stands how does this even last until the end of the season?

Could be worse. They could have an All Star game that players from the top two teams cannot participate in.

Look, man, these leagues know from experience that there's a better than 50/50 chance they don't finish a season. Of course you do awards mid-season.

I had forgotten all about the USFL reboot. This is the first time I've seen or heard mention of the league this year. Completely off my radar.

I guess the Junior Varsity could have all stars too?

Same. I had it on last Sunday and watched about a quarter last week. It was like watching D2 or D3 college football. Wobbly passes, DBs tripping trying to turn upfield, QBs falling over trying to hand the ball off...

I am guessing a squad assembled exclusively from NFL guys who have never made it onto the 52 but still get futures contracts would beat the top USFL team, and it wouldn't be close.

Stupider: Mid season All-Star teams

Gee maybe you should tell that to MLB, MLS, NHL, and NBA.

Let 'em have their moment. They're only playing in this league because they still have aspirations of making an NFL roster. I've watched about an hour of USFL so far, mostly out of boredom. The NFL really needs a developmental league for second tier QBs. There's no substitute for game time in a pro-style offense. Too often a guy finally gets a NFL start and they're so shell shocked by the speed an complexity of a pro defense that the only thing they can do is hand the ball off and throw check down passes underneath.

Last week, a USFL thread had more comments than an NBA playoff thread, so I'd say 'yes'.

What about greenlighting an article about USFL mid season all star teams? Where does that rank on the stupid scale?

I'd say the one thing dumber then USFL All-star Teams would be the USFL filing copyright strikes against the few football YouTubers willing to give them some publicity. That'll help get the news out.
