"A bored ape NFT that you paid $600 for?  We'll give you $8.  Okay, $8 and a coupon for 15% off a Mad Catz controller for the original XBox."

And when you buy a brand new NFT, the case is already opened for some reason.

That's because they keep the NFT in the back room and leave the box for display so people won't steal it.

/Also when you remember how they kept trying to sell you full-price "new" games whose discs had been knocking around in a drawer underneath the counter in a paper sleeve for six weeks.

tom baker's scarf: GM?

It's cryptobro 'code' for good morning.
Part of the grift is using lots of obscure acronyms and affirmations amongst themselves to signal to each other that they are somehow all in the same in group. It's basically what cults do.

One of the many hilarious things about unregulated crypto and NFTs is how they often try to "lure" people to buy their new XYZ product by offering *super special* access to an EXCLUSIVE *top secret chat group* online... but ONLY if you're enough of a chump, er I mean, chimp, er i mean great person to buy more of their new shiat!

It's like crypto bros never matured past age 12.

Cryptobros aren't exactly the smartest or most original thinkers around.
The whole space is mostly filled with people recycling old financial scams from the last half a millennium.

The stand-up philosophers involved in crypto also use deliberately complex and obscure terminology to confuse outsiders into thinking it's impenetrably complex. By doing this they're trying to make people have to resort to believing what they say about it because they aren't capable of understanding it on their own.

You know it's truly universally awful when Farkers and Garrison are both making the same criticisms of it. I don't think that's ever happened before. The last time I remember both the left and the right being equally outraged was over state and local governments using eminent domain to seize land on behalf of private developers. The left hated the collusion between corporate and government interests while the right hated the government intruding on property rights.

TotalFark would be comparable if Fark only granted access to people who paid $1000 for a JPG of Squirrel, and then constantly bombarded us all with endless other JPGs to buy for a access to other secret chatrooms.

sure but the in the context (if we're going to use that word) of the tweet it doesn't make much sense.
