An episode is only too long or too short if it sucks. We can all pause and watch on our own schedule these days.  Whether it's 20 minutes or 200 minutes, as long as it's good, running time doesn't matter.

Absolutely true. Also, doing the opposite of how Game of Thrones was wrapped up will always be a good idea.

Only a 6 month time jump will be interesting since all the kids are in their 40s now.

It's weird- I've watched every season of Stranger Things, but barely remember any of it. I've enjoyed it, but it never really sticks with me. I'll probably watch this season too, but still... there's something about it that leaves me always wishing it had more... something to it. More weight. It does tend to fall back on being nostalgia bait, even when it's not doing specific 80s things, it's leaning so hard on the 80s style of filmmaking and storytelling, just inflated beyond all reason.

(Every one of these seasons could have been shorter, and I doubt S4 is going to be an exception)

I concur. I have enjoyed the series up to now, but when I read that season 5 would be the final season, I couldn't remember if the most recent was season 3 or 4 (it's 3). That whole battle in the mall? I remember parts of it, but I don't even remember when I watched it. I don't know whether to blame my own head, the writers, or covid timekeeping practices. Still looking forward to it, regardless.

Well, the character relationships are moving a glacial speeds so each season is much more closely aligned with watching threat build, discovering threat, and then defeating threat. I guess Mike's big sister has shagged two different guys and Steve gets his ass beat in each season. Everything else remains very sitcom. Things may change now. They will probably kill another kid.

So a 30 minute music montage? Cool!

This.  There's tons of good anime that get one season and end on a cliffhanger. Hell, Dragon Half only got two episodes thirty years ago and I still recall it fondly.

GoT ended a few year's ago and I don't remember most of the last two seasons.
