I'm surprised she didn't just declare victory and claim that the votes were tabulated incorrectly.  Asking for a recount.

2022-05-19 7:54:58 AM
She is not 'eating crow', because you cannot shame those who have none

This is a good reminder to some people, that their shiatty cause is neither moral, nor the majority.  Sure, their leaders will continue to push the "silent" majority, and how they're poor little repressed martyrs, but that's only because they're desperate to keep that sweet grifting money flowing from the rubes, who like to pretend that they're on the winning team.

2022-05-19 8:17:43 AM
I dunno, she's made a strong case that God isn't quite dead yet to keep her from office.

2022-05-19 8:43:24 AM
well, 'He" sent a message you. Tho, the message was "I don't like you"

Look, if you're too batshiat insane for Idaho, maybe pick another line of work.

MAGA Woman, stay away from me!
MAGA Woman, just let me be!
Oh, gotta get away, gotta get away from MAGA Woman,
I gotta leave, you know I gotta go....

Trump suffered a huge number of very high-profile failures in GOP primaries this week.

The bloom seems off the rose a bit.

Please note that the Republican Party isn't "returning to sanity", they're just preventing putting in place politicians who are saying the quiet things out loud until the fascist GQP has government control with little to no way to elect anyone opposing them because the Republican Party suppressed those means.

I really wish Jesus would reign.  He'd turn water into wine and that would be really cool.

Oh, and he'd also cast the entire GOP into the lake of fire, which would be even cooler.

So let's not start sucking each other's wing-wangs just yet.

Poor Jesus.  He died for the sins of the world, and his reward is to reign in Idaho.  Probably just the panhandle.

Jesus was way cool
Everybody liked Jesus
Everybody wanted to hang out with him
Anything he wanted to do, he did
He turned water into wine
And if he wanted to
He could have turned wheat into marijuana
Or sugar into cocaine
Or vitamin pills into amphetamines

He walked on the water
And swam on the land
He would tell these stories
And people would listen
He was really cool

True. But I feel like this time he came in late and tried to jump on winning trains instead of endorsing people early on. But yeah, fark TFG.

The water into wine part would definitely be really cool, but the casting into the lake of fire? He never did anything of the sort. Hell, he barely got into it with the government and ended up tacked to a tree and the government stayed in power for a couple hundred years - not exactly the sort of chap I'd look to if you're looking for relief.

So basically, Little will be able to leave the state next term without having to spend a few days undoing all the crazy shiat McGeachin did in his absence when he gets back.

Idaho is farking weird. And crazy. And way too Nazi. Would be a beautiful place if it weren't so polluted.

This is a win that is a loss. The PA state GOP is extremely desolate about that result this week. The loser-kook won and will get his clock cleaned come November they know it. Nobody is happier about the PA Gov GOP primary than Shapiro.

jso2897: Why do these Old Testament Jews keep raving about the modern prophet they have utterly rejected?

That smells a bit antisemitic - I know what you were going for, but there are MYRIAD important ways in which the modern Republican Party deviates from what the Old Testament says; and also from how ACTUAL Jews, who rely (almost*) solely on that text, have been interpreting it for thousands of years before Jerry Falwell lost his virginity to his mother in an outhouse.

To relate to TFA, we could start with the whole "Jesus" thing (which isn't in the OT and it takes some creative reading to get it there), and move onto "God doesn't seem to care about a reign outside of Israel's borders, and set out a (semi-constitutional) monarchy and not a representative republic as the means of governance INSIDE Israel".

But it's quicker just to say that their dogma, while it claims its heritage in the Bible, is actually the bastard child of 19th century anti-abolitionist American Protestantism and 20th century fascism.

* that's a huge esoteric ball of worms I don't really think is relevant here, other than to say it wouldn't fully be correct to say we ONLY rely on the OT - Judaism (Orthodoxy especially) has a lot of tradition that isn't spelled out (clearly) in the text (e.g. placement of tefillin)

Trump *may* help in GQP primaries among a fractured base, but his extremist baggage will be poison in general elections.

Oh who am I kidding, the Republicans have not only become sh*t eaters, but have developed a taste for it.

Here's to hoping it drives turnout among the sane.

Larry Elder tried doing that until he realized that he lost 2-1 and, unlike a lot of Trumpsters, he actually cares about not looking like an idiot.
