'tis me.

Looking to drop Amazon - need something that will do actual antenna (basically local NPR), but also do some internet radio stations easily enough.

4 - 5 presets would probably do it - I don't need songs on demand, I'm just trying to trim down some of the monthly bullshiat I'm sure we're all familiar with, and I see a LOT (A LOT) of options.

Oh, and US made is nice, I try to keep it local, (support your local farmers!!!) although might not be possible with electronics nowadays.

Thanks in advance!

C. Crane has some.  I cannot vouch for them.  I usually stream terrestrial radio FWIW but I have a couple battery powered AM/FM radios as backups in emergencies.

Went with this (Braintree Mass)

Solo | Music Streaming | Bluetooth | Internet Radio | Alexa Certified (comoaudio.com)

FWIW - $110 cheaper on their site than Amazon (+$25 shipping) -  HA HA HA - I was getting this as a last purchase before cancelling anyway.

Thanks! - you mentioned "terrestrial radio" - that was one firm requirement.

The radio I ordered was local (to where I grew up, anyway) and had an antenna.

(now to listen to some Yes - maybe Arriving UFO for that "terrestrial" feel ;-)

Appreciations! - Ben

A $35 Raspberry Pi doesn't have a tuner, but will play any radio station's streaming site. You can control it from your phone, tablet, laptop etc. If you already have a stereo you can connect it to that, otherwise add another $50 for powered speakers. EIP, I'm all up ons the RPi.

I have a cheap radio hooked up to a retired iPhone.  Nothing fancy, but it does what you want.

I use a nice Sangean clock radio with Bluetooth for my iPhone, and when I don't want to listen to AM/FM (99% of the time) I stream my local public radio stations from the phone, or YouTube music if they're all playing weird specialty programs like they are wont to do on weekends.

It has decent sound, not really audiophile quality but very good for something on a nightstand.  If you must, it has a headphone jack you can connect to a better sound system.

About $150.  I got tired of replacing my clock radio every other year at $40 a pop and decided to spring for something better.  No regrets.  (And it doesn't use that one crappy chinese chipset that every other goddamned clock radio on the market seems to use, just re-packaged.)

Also, let me plug my favorite terrestrial radio station for ya: 88.5 FM from Cal State Northridge - mostly alt rock and classic rock deep cuts, with a little alt country, soul, reggae, even hip hop sprinkled in.  Real DJs, not algorithms.  (In fact, some the best DJs from the past 20 years in LA have found their way to the station.)

My only unfulfilled wish: a programmable snooze timer.

Who the F*CK decided it should be 9 minutes and only 9 minutes?

Oh, another tip:  If you don't log in to YouTube, you don't get ads.

If I want to hear an album, they usually have a rip.

What is with this trend of photos in ads and online selfies with a guy doing this look like someone just yanked a dick out of their mouth.

There aren't radio tuners (at least FM) for Raspberry Pi?

Very false.

What the shiat? That's the most hilariously ignorant thing I've heard in a long time. Why the fark would they not serve ads just because you're not logged in?

I have a 'pocket computer' that does internet stuff.

As for radio....AM/FM/SW/ATM stuff when I go camping. I have a crank radio...which also can charge my pocket computer.

Good luck finding one in stock anytime soon, though.  Apparently there's a hell of a delay on availability across the board on them now.

I do it EVERY DAY on my phone.  Twice on Sundays.

WTF are you going on about?

I have a discontinued Logitech Squeezebox  Boom. It has the best sound I've ever heard in a tabletop system.
