Well as long they still enforce laws against hoodies, human statues, and crusty jugglers I think it's fine.

It's for the greater good.

You're*

Typical anti Tory, working class degenerate. Why didn't your parents send you to a private school like normal people?

I think you mean a "public school".

It's a bit different between the US and UK.

funny enough my old pa did offer, but not for the girls. misogynistic old bugger that he was.
turned it down as I suspected the money he was earning at the time wouldn't last the course and I'd be out before seeing it through.
proved correct, still went to Uni with my good old fashioned comprehensive school education.

I once shared a flat from someone who wasn't working and was on benefits, and would shoplift to eat. Which is kinda ok, until he started leaning over the deli counter and taking a whole smoked salmon, or huge catering cans of coffee...He ended up being banned from Safeways (in England, pre-Morrisons).

What about self care products like shampoo, and feminine hygiene products, and toothpaste, and laundry detergent, and washing up liquid, and biscuits, and crisps, and the occasional sweets for the little ones ...

Doug Judy: Criminals? That's how you see us? Is it a crime to steal bread to feed your family? Or to sell some weed so you can buy video games? Or to steal video games because you smoked all that weed you were supposed to sell?
Captain Holt: Yes, all of those are crimes.

We're getting closer and closer to a reckoning that has needed to happen for some time now. The inflation and supply issues happening globally only exacerbate matters. There's still the issue of disinformation that is so far keeping the wolves from the gilded gates, but in times such as these hollow platitudes and manufactured outrage only work so long. At some point even the dumbest, most reactionary idiots will have to realize that it's not immigrants or woke Starbucks employees that are responsible for the state of things. And when that day comes,it will....

Oh who am I kidding? We're going to keep flapping our arms over wedge issues and culture war buzzwords while the rich continue to tilt the scales.

Back when I worked in retail, the general rule of thumb was if you saw someone stealing food, baby formula, or diapers, then no you f*cking didn't see anything.

Bread.  Eggs.  Simple canned meat.  Baby formula, diapers.  Cheap frozen vegetables.  Cheap pasta/sauce.  Those we don't give a shat about.

Shoving that $30+ steak in  your backpack, or the Haagendaaz, etc, etc... that we'll call the cops for.

That's great and all but...

The charging rate should more than treble, from the current 6% to at least 20%.

Yeah, let's see how this plays out.

I say keep 'em coming. Australia is what it is today partly because the Pommies looked at them, harrumphed, and kicked their "dregs" out to the harshest place on Earth. Like every superhero story, thats how this nation grew and developed into the best of humanity and Albert Einstein developed the theory of relativity and invented bubbles in beer by splitting the beer atom in his Tasmania farm shed. You may remember the documentary on the matter of Young Einstein starting one of the great thespians of our age, Yahoo Serious.

Of all of the differences between the US and the UK - that is one of the two things that you guys got wrong. You have better accents, use the metric system, haven't removed the 'u' from words like colour, parliamentary government, abbreviate mathematics to maths... However you never straightened-out your school nomenclature and you clearly drive on the wrong side of the road. I can't hold Boris and Brexit against you because we elected You Know Who.

I'm all in favor of poor people eating regularly, but this isn't the way to feed them.
Couldn't we take some of the obscene amounts of wealth that the ownership class possesses and use a tiny scrap of it to just feed everybody?
We could do it for about one and a half  F-35s.

No one in Western Europe or North America should go hungry. That people have to resort to theft is a terrible comment on our priorities.

As I understand it, the school thing goes back to the time when most schools were attached to guilds. Public schools were open to any member of the public who could afford the fees.

But the terminology is not necessarily UK-wide, anyway. In Scotland, some private schools are definitely referred to as private schools.

Weirdest items though...  all from the pharmacy.

We cannot seem to keep pregnancy tests, vibrators, remote vibrators, or cock rings (excuse me, those all fall under "sexual aid" devices) in stock, and we never sell any.

Every time I find one of the pregnancy test boxes empty I say "I hope its positive biatch"...

And the rise of food banks in the US, Canada, Germany, Scandinavia etc? Are the evil Tories responsible there as well?

I guess you must have stats that show that those countries/regions are depending on food banks at the same rate as Brits?

Do they celebrate the opening of food banks as much as Tories do?
