A buddy of mine's whole office just got it. What a disaster.

Nope. And all the "But no one could have predicted all these strokes and heart attacks" articles in a few years are gonna be facepalm inducing.

Get well soon, Al. I have tickets for the end of next month.

common sense is an oxymoron: Get well soon, Al. I have tickets for the end of next month.

Truly, a magnanimous and selfless well wishing if I've ever seen one.

Well I got my heart attack out of the way about a month ago.  Never had Covid though.  As far as I know anyway.

My best friend had one a few months before the pandemic started. That's been another incentive for my wife and I to stay safe, we're not trying to kill any of our friends and having had a heart attack he's high risk from COVID.

But COVID appears to be giving most people who catch it - even mild and asymptomatic cases - an increased risk of a lot of cardiovascular issues going forward after the infection. Still a lot of unknowns, such as is this permanent damage or will it heal for some in a number of years and what effect vaccination has on that damage, but we know enough by now to have an idea what's probably coming for us in the future at a population level. It's not good.

At this point I'm almost feeling ignored & excluded by Covid. Am I not worthy? Do I smell bad or sumpin'?

I tested positive after avoiding this shiat for over two years. Went to a larger gathering, first in many years, and there are a number of positives, every one vaxxed and boosted.

The good news is for me, it's exactly like a cold. Way better than getting it two years ago. The nurse said "we'll probably never get away from COVID and it's likely to become an annual thing like the flu." The last part, I dunno, COVID likes to party every month of the year.

Well, I'm off to get my monoclonal antibody treatment.

I'll be waving to crowds victoriously from my balcony later on tonight if any press want to stop by and snap a few pics

I didn't know it imparts immunity.  That settles it. I'm gonna set up a "heart attack" party with all my buddies.  We'll drink 5 pots of coffee each and watch Saw 2.

Sorry, I got busy.  I'm ok.  I have to have another stent installed next week in an artery that's about 50% blocked.  Should be good as new after that.

It's the nu flu.

Like nu metal, except it attacks your sinuses instead of your ears.

Oh, no, it can fark with your ears as well. There's been a bunch of cases of tinnitus brought on or exacerbated by Covid.

Doug Feiger (RIP), singer/songwriter of The Knack, was the brother of super lawyer Geoffrey Feiger, who defended Jack Kevorkian in that assisted suicide debacle years ago. My sister knew both of them while growing up in Oak Park, MI. She said Doug was super cool and Geoffrey was an asshole.
