It's going to be worse.  The water has warmed in the last 17 years.

But the Loop Current's subtropical water is deeper and warmer, and also saltier, than Gulf common water

Subby's mom's name is Loop Current?

This is great news for the drought stricken Western side of the US.  Those rain makers just need to scooch over more toward the Rockies and everyone will be much happier.  Why should the water rich east get all the rain.

Lived on Atlantic Coast in Florida during that year.  No thanks. Even though I'm not there anymore, I feel for those that will have to go through that.

/also lived in Homestead during Andrew
//Also was in the next town over when tornadoes ripped apart rt Plainfield, IL in 91.

I went through Plainfield, for a business I was in, after the tornado.  I have seen pictures of war zones that had less damage.

I had to leave Florida for work in 2004, after four hurricanes hit Florida. I'd not seen anything like that since 1967 when three made landfall.

/I believe it's going to get worse.
//I visited where Hurricane Michael struck FL.
///If that had hit Tampa Bay, 1000s would be dead.

Bah, I meant to use the 2022 map from the article but somehow grabbed the 2005.
/Pay no mind to that.

Pfft. Hogwash. Every year I read about how bad Hurricane Season is going to be, and every year I look out window all year, and I see no hurricanes. Why, we haven't had a hint of a hurricane in decades. This is all just weather propaganda. Sheesh.

/Lives in Central Ohio
//Really did see a Hurricane once in Jamaica
///Three
