My Dalmatian could cover himself up. He'd lay down next to the blanket, reach over and grab a corner in his mouth, and roll over, pulling it on top of him. Also fluffed his own pillows.

Never saw him try and cover up one of the kids though, this is pretty awesome.

If my dog threw up on a blanket or rug, she'd try to cover it up with the rest of the blanket/rug, similar technique, just trying to fold it over.

The thing with short haired dogs is that they really like to bundle up under some fuzzy blankets. I'm surprised that one did not try to steal that blanket to have for itself.
