I could be down for no reclining seats.

I also liked the point that the crews are funny.  I can't remember the airline, but on a flight from Vegas they came on and said "We're as hungover as you are, so we snacks will be served with take-off assisted delivery".  They then dumped bags of pretzels in the aisle and they all slid back to us as the nose of the plane lifted during take-off.

"You're don't"?

C'mon, Fark. You can do better than this.

When you book a flight on a budget airline, you know you're being a tightwad, and you know everyone else on the flight is, too. This communal cheapness creates an instant bond between passengers.

If that's the case then just take Greyhound.  You can enjoy an even more communal bond with the woman smoking crack in the bathroom and the guy cackling to himself as he flips through an issue of "Guns & Ammo."

I have lawn furniture that's more substantial than Spirit Airlines' "seats."

Flying Spirit for the first time?  Bring an empty water flask.  Fill it in the terminal after you clear security.

Because they will not even serve you water.

That sounds like Southwest.

Mrs bughunter loves that airline.  It's great for flights under about two hours, but for any trips longer than that, you will almost definitely need to connect to another flight.  And they WILL lose at least one item of your luggage.

Fares vary.

I'm flying to Mexico next month and the best rates I could get were on American.

Also, fark United.

They say the key to happiness is lowering your expectations.

FIVE SECONDS LATER

But what if everything goes well? You only got what you expected from that airline, so you aren't particularly happy. It's a recipe for disappointment.

Hahahaha! The irony. Expectations lead to disappointments, friend, but one is very happy to have expectations MET. Try lowering them, like you said 5 seconds ago.

One unexpected benefit to a local budget airline: they use older planes, so the seats are bigger and there is more legroom. Of course, this only happens if the company didn't take all the original seats out and cram more new seats in.
