From TFA: James Bond films had an unexpected affection for the Moke, with the boxy little vehicle appearing in You Only Live Twice, Live and Let Die, The Spy Who Loved Me, and Moonraker.

Do they make it in 1:64 scale?   Here are some Bond cars you might be able to afford:

I'm sick of Astons,, My favorite Bond car is the '67 Toyota 2000 GT.

Also that Sunbeam...

I want the Harley Davidson from Moonraker

Minimokes are cool, but if I want a bathtube on wheels, I'd rather go with the French equivalent that can actually go off the beaten path. The minimokes' wheels are too small.

(based on the 2CV, who was designed to be driven on fields, with a basket of eggs in the back without breaking any)

But there's nothing rational when buying those kinds of cars.

I had a Moke when I was in my early 20's and all I can say it's a miracle I'm still alive.

This is the closest I'll ever get to owning a "bond car".  Mine is a '65 1800S that was sitting in a barn and hasn't been started since the mid 80s.  Hopefully I'll be able to start restoring it within the next year or so.

If they upped the battery on that a little bit, I'd buy it.  I just need a top speed of 50 for 95% of my driving.

How's the parts situation it's been a long time since I saw one of those in a scrapyard her in Sweden.

It seems that mechanical parts are fairly easy to find because the 1800 and Amazon (the Volvo model, not the website) share the same drivetrain and brake system as well as other stuff.

So far I've bought a new gas tank and some ignition parts, but haven't started wrenching on it yet.  When I finish harvesting parts from the red SAAB 900 you see in the photo I'm going to have more room to dig into the "spy car"

That would happen in a James Patterson novel, except there would be a seemingly infinite supply of secret buttons and things it could transform into.

Jealous! One of my all-time favorites.

There's a guy here that I've seen running around recently in a dark green P1800 ES shooting brake that looks like it's just been gone though. I'm hoping I can track him down and bend his ear about it for a bit.
