I'm sad to say the show was my introduction to mountain music. There was some good stuff, but the characters robbed the music of any credibility in my head for too long.

Only in 5 episodes? Wow. Way to make an impact.

after growing up in a house in the 80s and 90s that seemed to only consider media from the 50s and 60s acceptable to watch, i'm cool with never seeing another andy griffith episode, ever.

Fun fact: Clarence White, legendary guitarist who played in The Byrds and Flying Burrito Brothers was in the first episode featuring The Darlings (along with his brother on bass).

She used to be at a local nostalgia convention I went to regularly. A very sweet lady who enjoyed the fact people remembered her.

I have an autographed photo in an album at the house. It was a pleasure to spend $5 for the signature as a way to thank her for the entertainment she provided when we were younger.

I share this every chance I get. I really like the later part, which I'm told is Paddy on the Turnpike.
