Because 95% of headaches are caused by mild dehydration, and habitually chasing the water your body is telling you to drink with a pill three times a day might not be the long term solution you want it to be?

If you get headaches regularly, and find that taking a tylenol or an excedrin makes it better, try just drinking the glass of water next time, sans pill.

You're welcome.

MurphyMurphy: quack chiropractor

Like your name, you repeat yourself.

My headaches are few and far between. I started getting them daily a few years ago. Turned out I had high blood pressure.

I get daily headaches from allergies. Spent a month in the southwest last year -- no headaches there.  :-/

I had headaches and terrible heartburn for years. Blindingly bad headaches, and pretty much daily. And had trouble sleeping too.

I cut coffee from my daily routine, and that pretty much ended. I had my first headache in months on Saturday, and I can chalk that one up to dehydration, and Graduation Weekend business. At this point I keep Tylenol in the house for sprains, strains, and burns and the like. I don't even keep Tums in the cabinet any more, and on the very rare occasion I get heartburn, I have baking soda and water to nip that right out. Which isn't great for my sodium levels, but it's rare that I have to resort to that.

I didn't cut out caffeine, but coffee in pretty much any form is gone. My digestion is better, I sleep like a baby, my general stress is down--never gone, because, well...chef--and I can count the number of headaches I've had in the last three years on one hand. And all of them pretty much down to dehydration or illness.

I don't get headaches.  It's rare.  I know I'm lucky.

I rarely get headaches, but I have one today, and I am not getting a kick because I make noise for a living.

/I have drunk SO much water today.
//Drank some caffeine, too. And I took some painkillers finally.
///WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME

I will tell you the same thing I tell my kids.

Go outside and spend some time on nature, maybe take a walk. Even a little park or weed infested lot can harbor enough reality to help get grounded.

/if you are by some chance dealing with depression be ok with it and remember that it will pass. That's the lie depression always tells, that it's not going to end, which just makes it last longer.

That's true. But you can't categorically rule out that this is just the tip of the iceberg and things will get much, much worse before they get better

My bf had a brain tumor. Over a year after it was removed, he still has constant headaches.

Mine are caused by chronic inflammation.

Tl;dr - a lot of times "drink more water" and eliminating sugar, caffeine & alcohol etc. isn't a cure-all. What do you do when OTC meds no longer work and doctors refuse to prescribe anything stronger?

I have two, and the most disappointing words I ever heard were "btw, these have nothing to do with your headaches."
