Yet they have an open marriage where they let anymore they like into it. I think that and divorce is wrong unless it is an abusive marriage, but I could care less what they do.

Maybe if they were having issues for a long time it was overcompensation on Smith's part.

It just goes to show that you can have hair loss problems and still have a beard. Even if you're a woman.

I've yet to see a situation where an open marriage wasn't just a precursor to a divorce.

But don't listen to me.  I'm just some uptight vanilla square.

Does this headline mean to suggest that Jada has had contact with Dwayne's King Richard?

Same. I'm sure there are exceptions, but in general it doesn't seem to be a winner of a strategy. It's usually just foreshadowing the end of the relationship.

More power to the rare people who make it work and all, but if someone suggests it to me I'd rather just get it over with and break up. Same result, but skipping massive amounts of additional drama and pain getting there.

Based on what I've seen, there tends to be one partner who's very enthusiastic about the idea, while the other goes along for the ride and tries to seem supportive.

Run for your life, Will. There is still time to turn this shiat around and have a triumphant 3rd act of your career.

I swear to Christ that Will Smith made a deal with the devil for his success and that horrible woman was the price.

I don't think he jumped on it. Everything about that incident pointed to years of something finally hitting a breaking point. If Smith's nice guy image was just an act all these years, The Slap would have opened the floodgates on all the terrible stories about him that people had been sitting on. But those gates never parted, and mostly you just heard shock from all his colleagues that he of all people had lashed out like that.

But all that's just my personal guess. Long therapy and a quick divorce might be just the thing he needs to get his life back on track. But then again, maybe the divorce was just about to happen anyway and his PR team sees it as the perfect excuse for his behavior. Either way, since he doesn't have a history of violent outbursts, I'll be surprised if he isn't back in everyone's good graces within a few months or so.

You know who else would have been better off without her? The latest Matrix sequel. She wasn't good in the original trilogy, but she's so atrociously bad as the aged Niobe in Resurrections, I'd swear bringing her back was just another one of Lana Wachowski's backhanded jokes at WB's expense.

Jada Pinkett-Smith is a harpy shrew of a woman who has tap-danced all over Will Smith's balls for over 20 years. She constantly brings up how much she still loves Tupac Shakur, a man who's been dead for a quarter of a century damn near and rather publicly rubbed Will's face in her most recent "entanglement," all for the sake of that shiatty The View-esque show she has.

He laughed at the joke, and after she gave him a dirty look, suddenly he was greatly offended and aggrieved and had to go defend her honor. Fark that.

I guess that's possible, but he did grow up in Philly. Anyway, I don't generally like or dislike celebrities on a personal level because I don't know them. She's the exception.

My husband and I have been happily polyamorous for 8 years.

If you want to stay married in an open marriage, there IS a shiat ton of work involved. But it helps when both people already identify as poly, and share the same values at the beginning of a relationship.

Changing the paradigm from monogamy into polyamory is a lot harder.

There are a lot of people who practice consensual non-monogamy, unfortunately they just aren't in a position in life to be "out" about it to their friends.

That a Disney remake of an extremely popular movie made a lot of money? I know this is Fark, and the concept of people liking something you don't like is met with the same confusion as a dog trying to figure out how the can opener works, but you may want to recalibrate what qualifies as a "surprise."

I'd say that the fact that the version of Aladdin featuring a blue-painted Will Smith, that was widely mocked as lame and derivative and that no one I know even saw, made more than $1 billion... qualifies as a surprise.

Wut?

Smith slapped an onstage presenter on live TV, then started loudly swearing like a belligerent drunk. The issue wasn't that he "scared whitey", but that he upset a crowded room filled with his industry peers by committing the first serious act of physical violence in the Oscar's very long history. His action was no small thing. However, it isn't being treated like the crime of the century, the response didn't happen for a few days and was extremely light, and no one really thinks that spelled the end of Smith's career. He did more damage to his reputation by appearing in AfterEarth and Bright, and he was forgiven pretty quickly for those.

What other acts of "award show violence" are you even thinking of? And keep in mind, to be at all comparable you've got to name instances that happened during the award shows themselves, not something that happened before or after.

I wonder if Willow's song "Whip my Hair" was a dig at her mother?
Either way that should be an intro song next time Chris Rock takes the stage!!
