You don't have to fly Ryanair, subby. There are plenty of airlines to choose from. Oh wait those have already hiked prices at least 15-20 percent too.

Flight prices are insane this summer. Just booked three tickets to Stockholm for a dinner getaway and it was easily 2x what they typically cost. Still totally worth it, but seeing the price came as a bit of a shock. And on top of that, dinner reservations everywhere are booked solid through November. What the fark, y'all?

When your biggest expenses are fuel and humans, you need to raise prices when those costs skyrocket. Who could have known?

I'm supposed to fly to Anchorage this summer.  I haven't even looked at flights yet.  Maybe this will be my excuse to get out of it.  Just stay home, drink and play Fallout 76

It's cool, airlines.  A NY - Colorado road trip this summer sounds infinitely more fun than dealing with your shiatty service, and having to deal with nutjobs on airplanes.

/GFY as well.

Haven't flown anywhere in almost a decade, so any ticket on any airline would involve sticker shock.

For an additional $50 you can provide your one lube before they impale you for boarding.

EABOD, subby. Jesus Farking Christ, learn how the world actually operates. This is a business, and a business exists to make money, not lose it. Due to fare reductions , the company lost money last year, so they are putting prioces back where they need to be in order for the company to make money. This isn't Exxon tellin gus they have no choice but to raise prices while raking in record profits, this is a companyt that temporarily reduced their prices, lost money, and need to put the prices back where they were.

Yeah, I know. Who would have thought we'd ever see a day where you can't just book a flight in order to have dinner?

I booked 2 separate sets of trip flights this summer way back in early winter and it turned out to be a very smart decision expense-wise. They're both up ~50%.

"Plane ticket prices will rise this summer due to high demand for European beach holidays, Ryanair has said."

Oh, look, it was right there in the first sentence subby.

I mean, that's not the only reason I'm flying there. But going to Under has been on my bucket list since they opened.

No, dude. I'm booking a flight for a vacation. Having dinner is something you do sometimes on vacation, but it's not the only thing. I don't understand how so many people interpret "summer getaway" and "can't book dinner reservations" as "flying across an ocean for the sole purpose of having a single dinner."

I'm flying to Sweden. I will be driving around, hiking, pinning for the fjords, and at some point I expect to get hungry and want to eat. I like nice restaurants, therefore I'll need to make reservations in advance for some of the nights I'm there. Unfortunately, the places I want to eat at are booked through November. How is this difficult for people?

Costs money I guess?

Not enough to justify price hikes, & other airlines have to do the same thing but it is a reason of sorts.

You do realize you literally said you're going for a "dinner getaway" right? It's right there in plain English.

"Dinner" getaway. Why would we think you meant "summer" when you didn't type it?

We're flying from Romania to the UK this summer. It's about a 3h30m flight to London, and we booked our flights in February just before the Ukraine invasion started.

Outbound to London Heathrow: we paid British Airways about $54 per person.
Inbound from Edinburgh: Ryanair asked for $85, and have already changed the flight schedule twice in the meantime. Yesterday's change moved a flight originally scheduled for early afternoon to 6 AM. We're probably going to ditch them and fly BA, even if it's going to require a connection.

Jeez, just after just 2 years of lockdowns everyone has forgotten how shiatty Ryanair is with all their nickel-and-dime fees?

Fark, I am dissappoint.
