cool to see the Double Down in Vegas get a mention. loved that place when I lived there years ago. in addition to the Ass Juice they have a bacon martini

the STL pick is disappointing. Milo's is a cesspool of toxic masculinity, and a great place to hear racist old men complain about kids with their damm pants too low, reminiscing about the good old days when everyone in the neighborhood was italian and involved in organized crime

Wasn't expecting the Philly inclusions, but I suppose that's what you get when one of the contributors is a Philly local.

But Hop Sing is awesome.  And I've heard good things about Ripplewood.  Bonus there is that Tired Hands brewing is right around the corner.

Copious amounts of alcohol and bocce balls seems like a problematic combination .

Shout out to Hawaiian Shirt Gonzo Fridays at the Trocadero Club in Philly.  RIP

i miss our lakefront dive bar, used to be able to jump in the boat, head over there about four, enjoy the band while having a drink or five, walk a ways and get some good mexican food, walk back to the bar, and if it was happening, stay and have a few more. if not, the key was to wait til 9 so lake patrol was off duty, then boat back home. perfect plan for near twenty years. the guy who bought it didnt pay his liquor license fees and got shut down on july third. heartbreaking thing. the new establishment is a piano bar, not the raucous rock n roll dive bar we all loved...

I finally visited the Double Down last year....it was great.  The bartender even paid for one of my drinks because I was willing to give up a "lucky" video poker spot to a regular.

Also, I highly recommend the Stage Door Casino on Tropicana Avenue....cheap drinks and a crazy vibe.  Although Broncos and Chiefs fans might not want to go since it has turned into a Raiders bar.
