I prefer to golf on the turnpike.

A Villager who took her new golf cart for a ride earlier this month on the Florida Turnpike has entered a plea to a charge of driving under the influence.
Carol Lynn Crispino, 64, who lives at 760 Kauska Way in the Fruitland Park section of The Villages, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday in the case in Sumter County Court. Her written plea was entered by her attorney, Bradley Bonifacino.
Crispino was driving a brown 2021 Yamaha golf cart at 8:15 p.m. Sept. 4 when a Road Ranger spotted her traveling south on the turnpike near Exit 304. The New York native was directed to the Okahumpka Service Plaza where she admitted to a trooper from the Florida Highway Patrol that she had "about three drinks with dinner at Brownwood Square in The Villages," the report said. She provided breath samples that registered .150 and .157 blood alcohol content.

One of the paths I walk my dog takes us like 50 feet from the garden state parkway and every time I trek thought there I think just for a second about what it would be like if I mooned all the drivers.

I have a fun game when I drive on roads next to golf courses. I like to blast my horn in the middle of golfers' backswings.  One of the golf courses coincidentally planted green giants along the one road I always drive on and I like to think it was because of me.

LSB:
I was teeing off a par 5 on a military base golf course.  A two-lane road paralleled the fairway and the right hand lane was bumper to bumper with people leaving.  I pushed my tee shot pretty far right with a slight draw and said "Fark me I'm going to hit a car".  The ball landed on the yellow center lane marker bounced forward three times, each time on the yellow lane marker right next to cars.  On the third bounce it kicked left back onto the golf course into heavy rough.
I couldn't farking believe my luck.
Thus endeth the LSB

I centerpunched the windshield of a moving Lexus after a high-sky-right on a par-3 at the local goat track.   175 or so yards and  right along a state highway.   I sailed that farkin ball up over the fence designed to prevent just such things from happening.   Windshield spiderwebbed, car got to the side of the road, and I climbed under the fence to make sure no one was dead.

The guy driving the car was actually pretty cool about it.   Wide eyed holy shiat look, but he played the course, too.   We weren't sure who's insurance was supposed to pay for it, so I just did out of pocket because it was my bad.

A long time ago I played at a course beside a train track.  If you had enough luck, the Jamtrack could give you a 500 yard drive. If you didn't it would give you a penalty stroke.

/The sideline of the track was a good place to collect golf balls when there was no train
//Also, TFA is basically me at 14 hitting balls in my backyard

I caddied at an all Jewish country club in the 1980s, and the go-to distraction back then was to drive by and yell antisemetic stuff: "Hitler was right!" and "Die you f*cking Jews!"

Made for some uncomfortable moments between the Jewish players and their goyisha caddies, I can tell you that.

I freaking love it.  The letters to the editor are also insane.

My parents live in the Villages.  That place is as nuts as it sounds.  People worked their whole lives in the Northeast or the Midwest to retire in Florida, drink all day, and get into confrontations over the most trivial shiat.

Seriously, I see a confrontation every single day that I'm there.  People are always getting into it.  Mostly, it's in parking lots.  There is always a confrontation over parking.

I have gotten a lot of shiat for honking at golfers from girlfriends past. Compared to that, I feel a lot better about it.

I have to go to The Villages frequently for work. I absolutely hate The Villages. It wouldn't be so bad if not for the necessity of GPS. I hear the phrase "in a quarter mile at the traffic circle, take the second exit to continue on..." At least 30 or 40 times every time I have to go there.

Also, GPS simply doesn't know where a lot of addresses in the Villages actually are and will guide me to an arbitrary location 15 or 20 miles from where I am actually supposed to be.
