His WWE resume speaks for itself, and includes accomplishments such as multiple WWE title wins, a Royal Rumble win, and an excellent WrestleMania win-loss record.

Umm, isn't this accomplishment more up to the writers and producers than the wrestler?

Wrestling is a lot of politics. You've got to play the game behind the scenes or someone else will take the spotlight.

You also have to actually perform when it matters. Yes, it's planned in advance, but don't think the Undertaker just stumbled into those accomplishments.

What's the issue with cards from 1991? Why that specific year?

There's also the whims of Vince McMahon, who has a preference for certain types of wrestlers and has the final say on things. Some wrestlers got big pushes because they showed up with big muscles at WWE HQ and Vince was impressed by the change in physique (like Jinder Mahal). And a lot of skilled wrestlers were fired or put into the bottom tier because of piss-poor storylines and Vince not recognizing talent.

I think it has more to do with keeping memorabilia vendors away.  Callaway has always had a strong relationship with the fans and the list is designed to make sure they aren't handing out their cash to some online hustler.

I can respect the man's decision. It will definitely make it harder for memorabilia sellers to sell stuff he signs for top dollar.   Won't entirely stop them but will make them settle for less then they would hope for.

It's kind of like getting first chair in an orchestra. You're not doing anything different from anybody else, and it's all written down in advance, but you still have to distinguish yourself and be better than the other guy. Undertaker is famous for a lot of things that weren't executed by the brilliant *cough* minds of WWE's showrunners. You don't get booked to win stuff without being a winner, is a way to put it I suppose.

Paul London got sent to the bottom tier and ultimately fired for being too good in the eyes of Vince MacMahon. Which was stupid as the way he sold his elimination from the Royal Rumble made perfect sense. He got walloped with a clothesline from Snitsky, a guy being promoted as a big, scary power wrestler, so his flip and landing on his face is believable. You can do your job well and still get shafted if you piss off Vince.
