I could've sworn he was already poached by another network....

A Purdue grad playing acting as a ND homer never fit right anyway.

He doesn't have a lot of personality so I thought he'd be a natural.

At least he got some hair out of the deal.

They had to do something with that hole in his face.

I always expected Kuato to make an appearance coming out of it.

I've seen more convincing "hair" come out of a spray can.

He probably started taking Rogaine. While he was playing, he couldn't take it because Minoxidil is a banned substance because it can be used to mask PED use

Between the money he made playing, endorsements, and his restaurant franchise being a success, I don't get why he wanted to be a commentator in the first place. Not every player is cut out to be at the microphone, especially one who got their bell rung as many times as Drew.

I have a feeling Fox will figure that out about Tom Brady too soon after that massive contract they signed him to starts.

I don't think it was his bell being rung, I think he was always rather milquetoast and didn't have enough personality for a color comentator or to give compelling statements in the studio.  I think Phillip Rivers might be far more appropriate because he was firey and usually had good soundbites.  He is playing HS coach so that would interefere in that comittment.  I wonder if Larry Fitzgerald would want in the booth or if he wants to be Governor/Senator of Arizona instead.

As a Saints fan, I'll chime in about the Brees problem. He's the kind of person that has made his "faith" his entire personality. On the football field, he's amazing. But as a person, outside of the game, he's Mike Pence levels of bland. Damn near anyone else in the league barring (Tom Baby and A-a-ron) could give you better color commentary, because their personality isn't so 1-dimensional.

Take all that with a grain of salt, but it's just my perspective from having watched the man for years.

I'm never going to bet against Brady, but my fear is that he'll be more Montana than Romo. Montana suuuuuucked as a broadcaster.

You could easily predict his color commentary ability with his response to BLM / anthem kneeling when he said he couldn't respect anyone who "disrespected" the flag bc of his veteran grandpas. Ignoring any of the political ramifications, it's a completely one dimensional analysis of a complex issue meaning his commentary was going to be pretty bland and simple.

Also fark him he went to Purdue

That's very progressive thinking.
