I would double down on both with homemade kahlua made from grappa.

I'd rather skip the wine entirely and just go with an Irish Coffee.

I remember the 70's push against REAL BUTTER. Everyone thought, and by everyone--I mean nutritionists, who thought that butter was evil and we should all switch to things like "Parkay" and Margarine Squeeze butter....with Trans Fats instead of butter. And MORE CRISCO instead of Lard. And even got McD's to change their oil from beef tallow to high transfat oil.

Well....they were wrong.

Yes, science will correct data over time with better stats. But traditionally nutritionists have a horrible track record for 'first guess.

The original claim that it might be is partly based on resveratrol, a polyphenol in wine which may be associated with good health outcomes, particularly cardiovascular - but in quantities far higher than those found in a couple of glasses of rioja. "A therapeutic amount of resveratrol would only be found in pints of red wine," says Gilmore.

Oh well, cardiovascular health is very important to me, so if I must...

It just says wine isn't proven to be "good for you", not necessarily that it's bad for you.

// I prefer beer anyway, but Mrs. Arkanaut likes a glass of wine every now and then with dinner.

Two fingers of bourbon on top of yesterday's cold coffee.

Drink while staring down the gold lettering on your office door, the very same ones that mock you: snoitagitsevnI etavirP.

Last night' treat. Made from Malbec grapes (hence the slightly pinkish tone) and extra brut so it was crisp and light. I like my wine and I like my bubbles.

All alcohol is carcinogenic.  Mildly so, but there's no health benefit from drinking alcohol at all.

My wine has a carbon footprint of like 100 miles. The nearest coffee comes from a couple thousand away

There's a health benefit to my no longer wanting to kill everyone around me.

Sure, it benefits them and not me, but it's not nuthin'.

Just drink wine twice, and every second week you'll be double-healthy!
