Uh, no.

That movie sucks. I suppose if you have the mentality and sense of humor of a crass 13-year-old, it might seem great. But it sucks.

Obviously you're the judge king of everything. Some peoples taste is all in their mouth. "Dice" set arena ticket sell out records that still stand.

It had quite the cast: Andrew Dice Clay, Priscilla Presley, Freddy Kruger and Wayne Newton.

That looks like shiat.  Also that guy really needs to learn proper audio editing.  I could barely make out what he was saying half the time and the movie audio was practically blaring.

A dumb trashy movie, that I got some giggles out of but hardly worth the rewatch.

The only thing I really remember was the part where, for reasons I don't remember, Dice forcefully baby-birds sushi to Lauren Holly. Ugh.

Excuse me. I just need to get by your little soap box. Thanks.

Its fine. It's a product of its age. Godrey does some fun work and there's some fun scenes if you really like Hollywood.
If you hate this movie, question all your life decisions. Its not asking for anything. Just 2 hours of dumb 80's action.

I don't hate it. I just don't like it at all. It's a turd. I don't think this is some kind of contrarian opinion. It's pretty widely-regarded as a turd.

Most movies from about 1989 through 1994 are turds, though. It was a really bad 5 years for Hollywood.

I thought it had a decent soundtrack. A catchy tune by billy idol, some yacht rock song, and Richie sambora doing a good version of the wind cries Mary.

He was going to play Robert Englunds part, but that was around the time he had his big bike accident, so he let them have Cradle of Love

I remember the movie and him being hyped quite a bit. Never found his persona amusing, just off putting
in a punching down curdled second hand Fonzie/Elvis/Dangerfield Brundlefly fashion.
/I guess the kids are rediscovering him?

I remember thinking it was funny as hell. It was streaming somewhere and I watched it again and it really didn't age well.

On the plus side, it does have Tone Loc and Morris Day.

My favorite underrated '90s action comedy is probably Men at Work.

"Awww, Looks like someone threw away a perfectly good white boy." is a cult classic line perfectly delivered by Keith David, who is way overdue for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

The soundtrack is an excellent compilation of the reggae/dub that was popular (in some niche markets) at the time.

It was 1990. It's fine for the time - a stupid action comedy. The same year its competitors would have been Short Time, Air America, or Bird on a Wire. It wasn't any better or worse than those.

Hey, that's the guy that was on MASH that one time.

Not exactly an obscure title (mebbe in the UK).  You can find a copy of it at pretty much any place that sells VHS tapes.  Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc.  I think anybody that wanted to see it, saw it by the time DVDs hit.

There was a weird cultural bridge at that time.  Hollywood still seemed stuck back at least ten years, hoping that a goofy premise alone would be enough.  They made lots of neo-screwball comedies and almost all of them are terrible.

It took a slew of highly successful risky films to pull their heads out and pay a little more attention to what viewers would love, and not just like.  I think it also took some serious changes in society, shiat got serious.

Ford Fairlane is a good example of how a shiatty product can be made and still expected to make money, and that was the rut they were stuck in - it wasn't just movies, either.

His fans were all proto-magas. Footage of his comedy shows is weird as people hoot and fist pump like it's a fascist rally rather than a standup bit.

Imdb trivia is a font of knowledge

After many letters of protest from classic-car enthusiasts, the film's production company said that an actual 1957 Ford Fairlane was not blown up in the explosion; it was a fiberglass replica body on a newer Ford chassis.

His fans were "rebelling" against the same made-up grievances MAGAts are now. It's just they had the good sense to not elect Dice President, though who's to say they wouldn't have if he tried

I still laugh thinking of Gottfried getting electrocuted. Same vein as Hudson Hawk, If Looks Could Kill, Kuffs. No thought required other than making you think too hard as what they are trying to be. Dumb entertainment.

Apparently, he has re-emerged with something of a real acting career.  But if I recall, back then, for the most part, he was pretty much the Dane Cook of catch-phrase standup for hammered 17 yr-olds.

One-trick novelty standups get forgotten all the time.  That he got a movie makes him an outstandingly successful one-trick novelty standup, but that doesn't make him funny longer than the 2 or 3 performances it takes for the novelty to wear off.

All the way through the latest version of A Star is Born I was nagged by almost recognizing Gaga's dad, but just not being able to place him.  Then the credits rolled.

"Jack and Jill went up the hill.  They f*cked!, heeeeyyyy!"

None of his jokes actually had punchlines.  They weren't really jokes.  He tapped into something, that can't be denied, but fortunately his shtick was just that, shtick.  He was inimitable in a weird way, and that was for the better.  It's just to bad his shtick was obnoxious and so was the persona he adopted.
