I need some expletive

FOX23 asked if he is still the police chief, and the town attorney says that everyone is innocent until proven guilty and they will wait for more information before any official action is taken.

Good to know he isn't receiving any special treatment.

I don't know many people who do meth. Okay, I don't know anyone who does meth. But I've NEVER seen a skinny, scrawny sheriff in my entire life. How was this not obvious to everyone who knew him?

If you go into law or law enforcement, the first thing you learn is that crime pays.  You have to do sone stupid illegal sh*t but also f*ck up to get caught.  This guy was stupid because he lives in Oklahoma.  And then he f*cked up by living in Oklahoma.

Before I clicked, I thought isn't it obvious? Wrong kind of speeding.

What an imbecile, everyone knows the cops get their "expletive" from evidence lockers.

I'm guessing that department doesn't have any ongoing physical evaluations/qualifications. The guy doesn't look like he could lift 50 lbs.

Even idiots get away with it most of the time. But eventually even the "smart" and careful will get caught and this guy was neither.

Because the crime must be repeated to really payoff, it is a bad choice unless you have some sort of protection.  And newsflash: police working for the state are not likely to give a rat's ass about a small town police chief.  His city has a population under 300 and the entire county is 14k.

"The chief was arrested without incident a search," said Spokesperson Mark Woodward, "It resulted in the location of a small amount of methamphetamine."

That's some good spokespersoning, Markie.  I'll see you get a promoted in Segeant.

The google says the town has 294 people.  Don't expect much of a "police department ".

Yes!

I especially like: "'The chief was arrested without incident a search,' said Spokesperson [and free verse slam poet] Mark Woodward..."

My town has about 400, we don't have police, we have two constables that don't actually have any law enforcement abilities other than busting your unlicensed/unvaccinated (for rabies) dog and doing welfare checks (by our town's laws). We are at the edge of the county so I've never actually seen county cops here, if you call the cops, after about 20-30 minutes you might get a state trooper to show up. Granted something like more than 90% of households in town have firearms.

As police chief, he probably has a true employment contract. They have to go by the language in the contract, which probably requires a conviction or at least an indictment before they can do anything. My hometown of Milwaukee just had to pay out on a contract because they fired the police chief without following the contract.

I think the field news-reader actually said explicitive ... twice.

He'll plea bargain down to I'll quit my job if you don't file charges so then he'll be free to be a small-town police chief somewhere else. I think he's learned his lesson.

Cops want you to believe this, but it's really not true at all.  They're incompetent grinders for the most part.

That town sounds like a real shiathole.

"Chitwood grew up in the area, worked for private military security firms overseas during the Iraq War and returned to Hughes County unsure what he would do next for a career. After becoming a certified law enforcement officer, Chitwood eventually became chief of the Wetumka Police Department.

A series of unusual political events led to Chitwood clashing with a man named James Jackson, who had been elected to the Wetumka City Council along with his wife, Rebecca. James Jackson became mayor, and he led the firing of Chitwood after Chitwood had investigated Jackson for allegations of inappropriate behavior involving children. Jackson subsequently fired other Wetumka police chiefs as well before being thwarted in an attempt to abolish the police department altogether.

Months later, the Jacksons resigned from the Wetumka City Council and were subsequently arrested in a joint operation between local and federal law enforcement. James Jackson remains in Hughes County Jail and is awaiting trial on seven criminal charges, including aggravated possession of child pornography, lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16 and beastiality."

It's 'police' department is in charge of municipal revenue generation via traffic citation. ALWAYS drop down to 25 on Highway 1.

Source: drove thru it once a week back in 2018. Didn't get a ticket.

Eh, after the last few years & especially in certain states, I don't put it past them to try to seem more "important" than they are.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
