Also, to hijack the thread, ERCOT issued another power warning for this weekend in Texas because 6 plants are down.

Did everyone agree to pay for none service and I didn't hear?
Because if they only pay for power used, it seems very profitable to never be down. Especially as heat goes up.

This is something that should have been fixed years ago, but no President has done anything about it. They should have been building new ones, but no one has cared enough to start it.it is ridiculous.

When Texas lost power everyone paid for that lost power.. they didn't pay for no service. In fact, it was reported at the outrageous prices they were charged for the power they got.

What are you even talking about?

I'm asking if they are paying for the right/access ON TOP OF actual usage.

But.  I guess if they changed more for power used during shortage, like a surge fee, that too would explain.

But barring those two models.

Only other logical reason this is happening is it's all too expensive to fix. They want to let it all brake and be bailed out.

This statement makes sense. You really should think out what you post because the initial post I responded to was pretty much gibberish. At least this post lays out your ideas in a way that is coherent.

My lights was out for hours at a time and then on for 10 minutes.  And off again  .
To make soup I had to place it cold in a pot.
Put pot on range. Set to high.  And wait for light to come back on.
🤣 took me half a day to think that up

Nice job of pulling Abbott into a story he has nothing to do with beyond geography. Now do a headline about murder rates in Chicago and Governor Pritzker.

I wonder if the gubernator of Texas knows he has nothing to do with running his state?

Oh look:  texas.gov [press release]

"Governor Greg Abbott today signed Senate Bills 2 and 3 into law to reform the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and weatherize and improve the reliability of the state's power grid. Governor Abbott made ERCOT reform and weatherization of the power system emergency items this past session."

Perhaps someone should sue them for multiple counts of attempted abortion, or whatever.

Well, cancer is cells that refuse to live under oppressive cyclin protein regulation.
Gov Abbott just wants to ensure every cell exercises their God-given right to unrestricted cyclin activation.

Dear human shiatstain abbot,

You are a good Christian denying those filthy non white people basic human dignity as they flee impossible situations.  You are enacting god's will by denying their children food so even if they do enter a whites only country there will be no second generation.  You also are returning us to biblical truth be stripping women of their rights and returning them to property.

My question is, why hasn't god healed you yet?  Why are you still a farking cripple despite doing everything you can to turn Texas into God's paradise?

so...
5 refineries in TX
4 in LA
1 in PA

what kind of refineries are we talking about exactly?  ARE those, in fact, just all the major refineries?  it occurs to me that this is likely just a case where big oil just flaunt the law no matter where they live.  and a bunch just happen to be in TX.
