I'd ask the tow truck driver a few more questions about this. Guys with piercings and colored hair like that breaking down in Arkansas.... I dunno....

That's a sad story no matter what ends up coming out.

Sorry to hear this. It looks like he was trying to get away from a very conservative red state so he could be himself and not worry about being killed for the way he looks/acts. Of course he was moving to another very conservative red state, but at least a blue city in one, where he could be himself. Things went bad in Arkansas somehow and he never made it. Might never be solved, but I hope it is so his family has closure of what really happened to him.

He had Huntington's disease

That's a difficult diagnosis in any case.

Well, if we're going to read things into the article that aren't there, I'll speculate he was kill by gang bangers in Arkansas.

Sub Human: He had Huntington's disease

Yeah, that detail stuck out to me.

I had a good friend with marphans syndrome. He knew he wouldn't live past 21 years old, and if he had kids there was a 50% chance they wouldn't live past 21 either. His relationship with his dad was strained, like his dad didn't want to get too attached. He lived everyday like it was his last, because one day that came too soon, it was. The train was not late, and he left on it.

People live different when they know they have limited time. I don't know what happened to the guy in the article, but he had some weight on his shoulders few can understand.

Some people with Huntington's disease have children. They decline the gene tests.

Dyed hair. "ALIEN" license plate. Septum piercing. Arkansas. Found dead. This is tragic but hardly surprising.

I feel sorry for him and his family. As for that article it was a struggle to read it. Someone has a little problem with the English language.

Well. If we're going there.
He died because we think hate is speech. It's not.  Never.
It's always some kind of action.
It can be bullying, not hiring, pulling someone over for b.s., or a lynching

Yeah, I dunno.

Keys on car, nothing stolen, nothing missing, no sign of foul play?
Kid had Huntington's? Mom and aunt died of it?
Made an impulsive decision to pack up and leave because someone said they couldn't be his roommate?

Yeah, I dunno.

I mean, I don't want to speculate, but as a six-time attempter myself, I'm just going to GUESS that he might have went out to the creek to "think about it" and then forgot to stop thinking.

Yea, car breaking down was the final straw.

It's Arkansas, guys, not Chicago. If you read the article (I know, I know) you'd see that the cops said there's no sign of any trauma.

I think he was assassinated by Mormon mercenaries  hired by the NoDak resistance

Do you ever understand the main point? The guy had a lot to be sad about in life with the medical issues with him and his family. A person who seemed to care enough to move in with him backed out, and his car broke down in an area where he had no support. It's very sad. Some Farker decided the problem must have been red states, when nothing in TFA pointed to that. The implication that the politics of the states is what made him depressed is what I was commenting on.

I also have a friend with Marfan's. His father had it and abruptly dies from a ruptured sorta when my friend was just a few months old.

My friend also opted not to have children because of it but he did have his aorta replaced at 19 and turns 40 this year. He does tend to live a pretty carefree lifestyle though because he knows the clock is ticking.

Maybe the guy died accidentally. He had some kind of mental problem didn't he? Maybe he fell and never got back up.

I can almost guarantee the Kia soul broke down from lack of oil in the engine. Not from maintaining it properly, but from bad engineering. At a certain point in a Kia's life (random, new or old), the engine will SUDDENLY start burning oil. No smoke, no warning. It seems the piston rings get "stuck" causing tremendous blow-by and oil consumption. We have one in the family, never used a drop of oil, then lost 3.5 quarts 2000 miles past the last oil change. Now it uses a quart every two weeks, about 500-1000 miles, depending on how it is driven. Highway miles consume more.
Kia finds this "acceptable"  in their design, and will do nothing about it, even under warranty (unless it exceeds this amount). There is a class action suit pending because of this.
The family of the victim should sue Kia, if this is the case, as they are partly responsible for pushing him over the edge with their knowingly unreliable vehicle.

Probably got human-trafficked and was then brought back and serial-kilked.

We don't know if it was suicide. Even if it was suicide, I don't think it was the attention-seeking type.

Sometimes suicide is the only option like when a high rise is on fire and you are burning up, most people would accept that jumping away from the fire is the only option even when you know you will die from the fall.

This persons body and mind were on fire, in a way.

"He couldn't tell the tow truck driver exactly where he was because he wasn't familiar with the area"......I wish someone would invent a machine we could carry in our pocket that told us exactly where we are at any given moment!

"a friend spoke with him on FaceTime and he indicated he'd called roadside assistance and that a tow truck had arrived."

In the mid 90s some long hair friends driving from FL to CO had a life threatening experience with some white trash when they stopped for a meal in AR.  This tracks.

That was the 90s

Thanks to Walmart, parts of Arkansas is quite fine with strangers passing through, just as long as they don't stay.

Or if they do stay, it's a college town or a larger town.

Yeah. And his friend had sent him money and a hotel room saying they'd go back and get his stuff later.  Then a tow truck gets there and he disappears.

Not a conspiracy theory at all. Aside from a few rare pockets the South is not really known for its tolerance of people who are different.
