The end of Roe assures that many 100's of thousands of children, perhaps millions will be added to the foster system that can barely pay attention and keep foster kids from being abused and beaten to death now.
This isn't pro-life.

The kid threw up because she eats too much?
Lady you won 25k because your cooking sucks.

As of 2021, there are 425,000 children in the foster care system... stories like this one are far too common.  We actually have a Supreme Court Justice who believes that there is a supply chain issue with babies...

We have people who cry that taxes are theft.
And yet too many government agencies are understaffed and what staff they have, have more work than they can accomplish.

Also. grow up. I cooked once for my brother and he looked at me like i 🍽 plated him vomit.  I can actually cook. It was eggs with hot dogs. His face broke my heat.  To this day. But I didn't do anything to . I huffed and mad him something else.  Don't hit kids. Period.  You can easily kill them. And people will wish awful crap on you.  And inmates are going to never trade food with this lady.  She's doomed.  And LIFE.
It always suck to be made an example.  fark.

Wow.  It only took the jury and hour and a half?  I'm assuming that probably included an hour-long lunch break, too.

This woman should never see the light of day again.

Keep in mind parents can lose custody of their children for neglect which often translates to losing custody due to poverty: insufficent food in the house; a seven year old left in charge of two younger siblings because parents have to work; the child has no coat, hat, or mittens in cold weather, etc. Then, foster families are paid to care for the children who were removed from their parents due to poverty misread as neglect. If we helped familes, there would be plenty of high quality foster families for the few children who truly are endangered by their birthfamilies.

Good Lord, my brothers, sister, and I beat the shiat out of each other on the regular for anything and everything. We were only three years apart because of one set of twins. I still have a dark spot on my leg from where my sister stabbed me with a pencil because I sat on her head while she was taking a nap on the couch and I farted on her. I guess the graphite got stuck under the skin and gave me a tattoo of some sort.

ADULTS shouldn't hit kids, but in the old days kids hit kids all the time. My parents didn't hit us, and we eventually grew out of it once we were big enough to do real damage, but fark if we didn't go at it when we were young'uns.

Me and my siblings are oddly spaced.
I'm nearly 50. My brother is so young he knows about 911. But doesn't remember it. But heard about it his whole life. He's enlisted.
The egg thing happened a long time ago.  But
I was at least 29? Not sure.  But he wasn't a teenager.  Not even 12. Probably 10?

He is a picky eater. It's annoying.  Jfc.
My aunt didn't let me be picky. I was forced to eat broccoli.  Which I didn't want to eat because it smells like farts when cook in boiling water.

Well shiat, then you were an adult! Adults shouldn't hit kids!

But even though I don't have kids and there's a whole new push for kids to "talk it out" I can attest that my nieces and nephews still go at it occasionally even if their parents shut it down faster than my parents did. I don't think there's any changing that side of human nature. Put two four year-olds in a room with one toy and a fight will break out eventually...

Hierarchy of importance, fighting the death penalty while you turn a blind eye to homeless hungry children is immoral.
If you can do it for everyone ok, when you can't, then make the hard but at least  honest choices.

You said you have twins as siblings?

I have a twin brother and a grandmother who thought it was a good idea to get us 'one gift to share'

I learned to bite early, as I had casts on my legs as a kid, so my brother could walk when I was forced to crawl, and he would grab my toys and run away.  So I bit him whenever he got close, I was told.

Yeah, I feel this every time there's a story about anybody being killed by a loved one. Imagining the combination of fear and confusion and pain and heartbreak that must go through them in those final moments just kills me. That poor little girl :(

Sounds right. I HAVE a twin as a sibling. Our fights were the most brutal, although occasionally we could team up against the older sister or younger brother if we needed to pool resources. For some reason, parents in the 70's-80's thought kids needed space based on age, so sister got her own room, little brother got his own room, and my twin and I had to share a closet. Guess who fought the most?

Oddly enough, we get along great now, but it's that relationship you build with someone you've been to war with.

This sort of thing is heartbreaking and infuriating. It makes me sick - even moreso because the authorities can't *always* be there to watch over these abused kids when they're scared.

If you know of someone in need - help or get help. Being quiet, treating it as a "family" matter or an issue of clashing cultures just ensures that children will continue to be abused.

If you ride a motorcycle - or even if you don't - look up your local Bikers Against Child Abuse (www.bacaworld.org) chapter.

I anticipate that there are infinitely many terrible cooks in nearly every country.
My good friend and college roommate is just awful.  I tried to teach him a little bit but it was mostly hopeless.  He is lucky he found a woman who knows how, and is willing to use, a stove on his behalf, because otherwise he would still be eating Subway every day.
