Hmmm... Sounds like propaganda from Big Napa who want to lock in customers for their soon to be released wild fire flavored wine.

We did nakedwines.com after getting a coupon some years back and have kept with it.

It's $40 a month, that essentially accrues into your account until you decide to buy anything.

The concept is that the subscriber monthly fees are what helps fund the smaller wineries that sell through the service.

I usually just let it bank for 3-4 months then create a custom case, give or take a bottle or two depending on what I throw in there.  Average bottle costs is around $15, but there's a bunch that head up to the $50 range and down in the sub $10 range.

You can build the order yourself like I do, have them build it for you, or just select some of their pre-prepared orders.

No complaints from us.  Everything's been either good or really good.  We're not necessarily wine snobs though.

I don't like wine. Why is now the best time for me to sign up for it? What truth is this?

Bingo. First sentence out front should've told ya.

Wine clubs have historically had a reputation as hit-or-miss propositions.

Drought can be a double-edged sword when it comes to wine, but wildfires are no one's friend. Wine clubs are gonna have a hard time.
