oh goody, a link to my local news, again........

"There was Diet Coke spewing everywhere because the gator was interested tore open the box had a few cans probably thought it was beer maybe I don't know."

when transplants from chitown find an 8 ft gator biting the pop cans out in the garage, this is actually a pretty floridified thing to say! they'll probably fit in fine down here.

They seem like a charming couple, actually. I bet they throw good parties, with tasty hors d'oeuvres. I would assume the beer is in the garage fridge, and that's why the gator couldn't get to it.

Oh, my comment isn't even actually a joke. People down here become Floridafied, or they move away.

My comment wasn't a joke either. They seem fun. I used to be the hostess with the mostess, who threw lively dinner parties full of food, drink, and merriment. Staying up half the night or the next day cleaning up was part of the deal, too. These days, I would rather be the guest than the hostess.

I have a couple of friends who retired to Florida, from GA and NC. Not as big a geographical stretch, but I'm pretty sure they have become Floridafied.

I'm from California, but remember seeing 'gators near the flightline or on Swamp Road of Robins AFB, GA (just south of Macon). I had no desire to get anywhere near them. One dummy I know literally poked a 4' one with a stick before the base animal control team showed up. Fast as lightning, it lunged and latched onto his ankle, doing a fair bit of damage.  I really wish I'd had a phone with a camera back then. Dumbass asked for it.  I called him Amos Moses after that (nothing is obscure on fark,  right?).
