California 1,466  breweries, but still somehow Bud is the top seller.

I wonder if it were broken down by ABV if it would average lower.

I think what they really mean is "1,466 varieties of IPA".

What this map really says: America's favorite beer is Budweiser.

This may actually be accurate.  Where I live everyone drinks wine.

/My area is the only one not color-coded on the map

Not when the most prevalent names on the list are 'Budweiser' and 'Bud Lite'.

Let me tell you a statistical secret.

The more alternatives there are, the less you need to be the top seller.

Very confusing. I know.

Except in Ohio, apparently, and I attribute that to two people who suddenly moved and didn't tell anyone.

Nice to see that the people in the top states are at least staying hydrated.

Sorry but something was way off in your calculations if you got Lone Star as the preferred beer of Texas. Bud or Bud Lite would likely be the top sellers, followed by Millet Lite. Shiner Bock is pretty popular for a made in TX beer, and Dos Equis is popular as well. For cheapskates' it's Keystone, Natural light, and Bud Ice. I've never known anyone who drinks Lone Star, and to be honest, can't say I've ever seen anyone buying it, not sure if most stores even sell it.

TBH, I am not surprised.  A college friend of mine is from LBI, NJ, and he loves Miller Lite.

I'm grateful for that article.  I would not have known what beer is without the explanation, and I just hate being clueless.

I don't understand how people drink a lot.

Like literally. I've seen people drink a 24 pack of beer. That's too much liquid. I get consuming that much alcohol. I don't get consuming that much liquid.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood: "Fark user density map"?

It's going to be interesting to see if the 2022 map shows NH turning grey.  I did 130 last year, so I'm afraid I was holding up the state.  Unfortunately Mr. Giant Blood Clot and the resulting lifetime supply of blood thinners has robbed me of my ability to contribute in 2022.

I feel like I need to sponsor a drunkard just to keep our numbers up.

What I learned from this map is that people have shiatty taste in beer.  Budweiser.

2022-04-30 9:45:39 PM
Ummm. That map seems to be dramatically overstating the number of breweries in a lot of states.

I wonder if having that many breweries is "splitting the vote" of the good beer?

well, yeah, everything I ever learned from Bud Bowl I-V is that it's a two party system. now, Bud Bowl VI did introduce a can of beer, but it was quickly ejected from the game.

That's true.  If you drink that much beer at one time, it's time to switch to vodka.

Goose Island is not #1 in Illinois.  Maybe in some burbs around Chicago, but not in the city or the rest of the state.
