If he were still alive, I'd have Bob Hoskins reprise the character but play it like a straight up Cockney gangster. Makes as much sense as the first movie.

I know I know snark snark snark.

But I trust Miyamoto. He can do or tweak or delay whatever he wants. The list of things he's been heavily involved with that have not been amazing is very short.

What has he been involved in that hasn't been amazing?

I only know Super Mario so I'm curious what else he's done?

There were no Italians involved in making the games either.

But you speak truth to power, Wokey McWokeypants, #EsqWoke.

His suggestions to the Paper Mario team have turned the series into a fun and quirky RPG to a gimmick ridden mess with combat systems that make you do everything in your power to avoid because of how dull and boring they are.

I think Hollywood suffered the most from this pandemic. Now if I could just muster up a microbe of sympathy for it.

Although it was a bomb at the box office, the film went on to become a cult classic.

"According to said report, producer Kensuke Tanabe and director Masahiko Nagaya were permitted to shape Paper Mario: The Origami King in pretty much whatever way they saw fit - in fact, Nintendo director Shigeru Miyamoto was barely even involved"

Good lord that's hard to answer. The main series he is credited with creating to a large part are Donkey Kong F-Zero Mario Pikmin Star Fox and The Legend of Zelda. But he's been a leader at Nintendo and lately the director for decades. I don't like everything he's been involved with. I just personally cannot get into Pikmin. But the man is a creative genius and has a history of creating fun and memorable games.

Interesting, I didn't know that, I obviously don't follow his career, and yeah, I've never played Pikman, but the rest are pretty solid hits

Buying some distance from Sonic 2, which is silly, you can't outrun him.

The story, the atmosphere, and my god, the MUSIC (don't want to spoil but holy sh*t every second of the f*ckin vibe in the pyramid is Nintendo putting on a "how to build mood" clinic) of Paper Mario: The Origami King should make it infinitely repeatable and eternally beloved.

Should.

Alas, the f*ckin combat

He was initially involved with Sticker Star and was the one to suggest not copying Thousand Year Door. I won't say he's the sole reason, but his suggestion is what lead them to their design choices for Sticker Star, Color Splash, and Origami King. Note how hard they ride the paper theme like it's the only reason people were interested in the Paper Mario series.

Didn't we already have a Super Mario Bros movie? Is there anybody who saw that and said "Oh yeah, we need another one of those"?
