I... guess?

last year (or maybe 2020, who really even knows anymore) one of our usual pokéymans bowl places offered crushed Doritos (forget which flavor) among the usual plethora of toppings. me, I never even get the standart chowmien crunchies, but the wife was interested and ordered it for her pokéball. tbh I can see it working, but at that time she was nonplussed.

I was snacking on some Sweet Chili Doritos.

Blech! I sometimes order the Spicy Frito-Lay mixed box on Amazon. Like 30 small bags, 6 flavors. I'll eat most (Flamin' Hot Doritos are the best), but the Sweet Chili is just gross. It's not spicy at all, so it shouldn't be in the mix. One of the worst flavors they make.

Don't go to third base if you've been snacking on cool ranch doritos.

Ah, no. That is a thing which does not exist.

Thankfully for a baka like me there are simple versions:

F. I couldn't find any simple versions online which weren't outright insulting.

Oops - headline didn't make it clear that one of the things we're discussing is furikake.

"spicy salmon, eel, veggie tempura, the usual suspects"

The 'usual suspects'?  If it's like my mom that shiat has Natto in it and it is not at all usual to a sane persons standard....

/If it's my sister in law it's curry powder
//if it's my brother, probably some weird 'colon cleanser' added
///if it's my MIL?  I ain't eating it, no matter how much you pay me

I could simplify this recipe pretty easily, as it's possible to buy fried shallots and fried garlic.  They're used a lot in Indonesian cooking.

I keep them on hand to finish my nasi goreng (fried rice), but it's useful for lots of dishes where you just want to add a bit more garlic flavor. It's not Filipino garlic rice, but it'll do when you're being lazy.

You can get them from Amazon, but it's usually under $10 for a 1lb canister of fried shallots at international stores.

It might seem expensive, but it's like beef jerky where it's dried out, so it probably takes two or three times the raw shallots to get that weight of fried shallots.
