Well, crap.

I'm sure that splitting it into two movies spread across a few fiscal quarters was merely an inconvenient truth that that was inescapable based on the story they wanted to tell. Purely. Artistic. Decision.

Now we need a "Spider-Verse pointing at itself" meme

I would hope it's because someone finally realized that Lord & Miller have the Midas farking Touch - Clone High, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, the Lego Movies, Spider-Verse 1* - and are letting them breathe for a two-movie deal.

* by some accounts, their vision for Solo was much better than what we got before the Mouse got cold feet and hired Ron Howard to make something bland

I just watched No Way Home (I was not overly thrilled with it but that's another thread) but I am not well-versed in complete Spider-Man lore.

Were there any hints or Easter eggs to Miles Morales in that movie?

Max Dillon/Electro dropped one when he saw Peter 3's face.

There is so much hearsay about their version of Solo that I don't know what to believe.  But at the very least I think it would have been a more interesting film than the one we got even if it didn't completely work.  I think "bland" is accurate for Howard's version.  It's wasn't terrible, but wasn't great.  Pretty forgettable though.

Yeah, just like Back to the Future 2 and 3.... but you may not have heard of those (wink emoji)

I don't care, I'll probably live long enough
Better they get it right
Not sure why this movie needs a sequel but I'm willing to be surprised

Is this like a sequel to a sequel like ff 10 -2

Um.  FF10 isn't a sequel to anything.  Most of the FF games have nothing to do with each other.

I just didn't like it. Didn't like 8 either. Not a fan of the realistic looking characters. Haven't played any after.

Assuming this isn't bait, the janky animation was an intentional choice in the first film for a variety of reasons. Go check it out. They put a whole lot of thought into every minor detail of that movie.

Intentional or not it gave me a headache watching it and sent a friend of mine to the restroom to throw up. Loved the story, will never rewatch it due to that.

Exactly. Loved the animation style in this movie so much. They even carried it over to the Spider-Man: Miles Morales game where you can put on the Spiderverse suit along with the mod that comes with it and Miles will now have the animation like he did in the movie. Love it.

/Apparently the post wasn't bait due to the response that the animation style had adverse effects to the poster as well as who they watched it with

I'm going to assume you liked 9?  That was a nice throwback.

The only later one I've played is 12, which didn't do it for me, but I seem to be in the minority on that...

Yeah, I caught that. I just meant were there any hints that maybe it somehow brought Miles in to the MCU?

I know Miles' uncle was Donald Glover in Homecoming so I thought maybe they expanded it on that somewhere and I missed it?

The first animated spider verse is one of the best Dolby Atmos sound tracks. It is demo worthy if you want to show off or test your new system.

The story was also one of the best stories. It has teenagers with happy and sad parts and somehow they weren't all whiney and emo or filled with angst.

/I had no problem with the animation but I have only watched it in the glorious 4k on a big screen TV.

I think some people weren't fans of the variable framerate. They saw "jittering" at normal animation rates because experienced Peter was done smoother. The effect was great, for me, but some folks found it jarring, others didn't like it flipping between "good" framerate of 24fps and normal animation at 12fps.

I thought it added a lot to the feel of the movie even though I didn't consciously realize what was happening the first time I watched it.

Yep.  Lots of people loved it.  I was not one of them.

At least it's better than the story behind the novella which was X-3. Do you like mines that look like blitzballs?

Right but you said Sequel to a Sequel.

This implies that you consider FFX, which 10-2 was a sequel to, was ITSELF a sequel, (thus letting 10-2 be a 'sequel to a sequel')

Yup.  I watched that whole Masters of the Universe thing on Netflix.  I tried to watch Transformers on Netflix.  Looney Tunes is my favorite entertainment property of all time.  I'm a child of the 80's. I love me some cartoons.  But I did not like Spiderverse's animation.

Here's another hot take you won't like:  the 80s TMNT and the 90s Spider-Man and X-Men programs are highly overrated.
