(Oddity Central)   Marathon runner fails to outrun Tesla Model 3 electric car in wacky Man vs. Horse Marathon. Probably didn't have his electric oats for breakfast   ( divider line

baka-san: Well
That was pointless

If the Tesla was not allowed to recharge, the marathon runner should not have been allowed to refuel by eating or drinking and should have run until he dropped (with an EMT following him to administer an IV right away just to be safe).  I wonder how far a trained runner could actually go under those rules.

Johnson: I thought they were going to race to a destination and include the Tesla having to stop to charge.
That's what I get for RTFA.

I drive an EV (not a Tesla) and someone tried "betting" me that I would not drive it from Chicago to Florida with a family of 4 on vacation because it would take too long waiting for it to charge.

I told him I would have to decline his bet as my car was a "city car" and good for 99% of my driving needs.  For a trip to Florida with a family of 4 that I did not have, I would rent a new minivan of some sort.  I mean it's not like when I go on vacation I have to a buy a home at my destination. I rent someplace to stay.  Why can't I rent a car/truck when I need one?

That's a popular argument against EVs that's utter horseshiat. No one, except silly geese, chooses a car based on things they might need to do 1% or less of the time you own it. I'm including the silly farks who live in moderate climates, don't off-road, and still choose AWD cars.
