People, trust me when I say you have to focus on your goals. Star Wars was rad in the eighties because electronic toys were just getting big and it made you feel big and awesome to have a Darth Vader toy next to your Speak-N-Spell on your baseball sheets, and adults liked it too because it was relatively non-pretentious good fun that didn't drain your patience too hard, and we didn't worry about much except for looking cool to people who knew more about music than you did, because where were kids going to learn about music? And then you fought the high school war and they tried to convince you to feel better again with a brand new remix. But the prequels were a disappointment and covered all over with that feeling of shiny plastic and marketing and sugar that you were too old for and spinning Yoda was stupid anyway and the whole mess made you feel a little sorry. And then the sequels were just....so bad that they had to frame them as some kind of societal advance that girls could be Jedis too so that they could have anything to say at all and you end up like everyone else, just wondering what life would have been like if you took a different path when you were young, but the time to seize is happening right now, you don't have to endlessly search for some rearrangement of seven and a half hours trying to recapture bits and pieces of your childhood. It's over. You're closer now to death than ever before and playing child isn't going to make you feel anything. Clear your mind and let go like Luke at Cloud City and give yourself to the trash satellite that is this planet in this galaxy.

The game is awesome. I decided to play it through in release order.

Machete order is literally the worst way to play the game. One of the classes (Scavenger) doesn't unlock their abilities until you finish RotJ or the start of TFA. If you want to break up story missions with free roaming (which I highly advise doing so you don't burn out on it), you'll want all the classes available as early as you can.

Machete Order also skips Episode I, but you have to play that to get to II and III.

I'm playing in release order.  The game's a riot, and I'm laughing out loud quite often.

I prefer Bombadil order, where you start with the first one then get distracted doing something else.

The Star Wars saga took place a long time ago, so I'm guessing that Machete Order goes like this:

1st: Everything Star Wars, including Mark Hamill's appearance on the Muppet Show which happened back in the 80s.

2nd: Everything Machete.

Not sure how that applies to this Lego game though. Are they saying right after you play it you should watch the Machete movies?

Yup. How i am doing mine. Up to Last Jedi and Rey with Luke.

Yeah game is fun. I need to explore some more and get more data chips for unlocks. Then get next multiplier, then unlock characters and get kyber bricks. Then tons of upgrades.

But it is a fun game.

My kids picked episode 1 and we only had to watch a walk thru video one time. Trying to find Boss Nass was kinda hard for them.

We'll beat that level the next time we can play and do not have a soccer practice or early tournament game.

Looking forward to killing younglings in ROTS.

Is that yours? It's pretty goddamn beautiful and spot-on.

Don't forget the capital ships, too.  It's kind of neat being able to just wander around the Death Star or Executor and nab some easy Kyber bricks.

I plan on going for most of the stuff in the game, but I'm not sure if I'll 100% it. Some of the level challenges seem a bit annoying to go back and retry to get.

eps 1-3, 7-9 should just be condensed into a highlight reel and an epilogue respectively.  30-40 minutes tops added to the whole run time of 4-6, would be ideal.

There's a great edit of the prequel trilogy that condenses the whole thing down to about 2.5 hours. I'm sure we'll see similar projects for the sequel trilogy over the next few years.

You can throw out practically all of TLJ. It can be easily pared down to Rey meeting Luke, Force Zooming with Kylo, then dashing off to watch Snoke's bisection and then escaping. None of the rest of it is important at all.

Yep. While I like both Finn and Rose, their entire side plot was absolutely pointless.

So was Poe's. And a lot of Rey's interactions with Luke should have been pared way down from the start. First he refuses to train her, then he agrees, and then he senses her power and refuses again. The movie should have just had him agree to give her some general instruction and then change his mind. Two refusals was just another one of Johnson's clumsy overindulgences.
