I use Edge as my unadulterated browser with no extensions or ad-killers, for sites that work better that way. I started with the pre-Chrome version years ago. Nice browser. Works fine. No troubles.

buy being edgy?

Did I miss the joke?

I'd use Edge occasionally if MS hadn't burned that bridge by being so farking pushy at the OS level.  Now it goes on the list below Chrome, which is already a "use only if necessary" browser, purely out of spite.

I don't take kindly to OS-level advertisements and forced settings that need to be dug out by hand.  Opera is way above both those two in the list, although I use FF most of the time.

I like Edge well enough--helps that it's essentially a Chrome knock-off--but godDAMN I hate that BS it does upon first use.

No I do NOT want to click all that shiat before I can use the damn browser.  STAHP!!!

Edge is just rebranded chrome.

It seems some websites are using chromium specific things and Firefox is not up to par. This sucks in that Firefox has the best ad blockers.

Happily running Edge, though with uBlock and ABP, and it's far nicer on resources, loads just as fast, and just does as I want.

I spun out of Firefox way back when and went to Waterfox, and Chrome might be on this system somewhere just to interface nicer with the Chromecasts.  On mobile its Firefox because of uBlock, then Firefox Focus, then Chrome for most work things, then Edge for the one work thing that just hates Chrome with a passion

So a web browser on Windows that is difficult for the average user to uninstall just overtook one that people install voluntarily? No Sherlock.

Worse. It's just Chrome under the hood.

/ the year is "2022" all applications are Chrome. All languages are JavaScript. All types are string.

Firefox + ublock origin, privacy badger, and HTTPS Everywhere addons in for the win.

Thankfully it keeps the spy engine that comes with Chrome.  Just changed the server IPs it connects to.

The first step is getting away from windows.  It has its own IP orgyfest with microsoft servers

Then download Firefox w ublock origin, privacy badger, and HTTPS everywhere addons and configure them.

In FF preferences, configure for security.

You will find a clutter free, fast internet w minimal snooping

Works well with all of my other Microsoft applications. Doesn't interfere when I want to use Brave or a project requires Chrome. Best of all worlds.

I still use eLinks. Super fast and lightweight. Sure, I get the "your browser doesn't support javascript/style sheets" or whatever, but I just go about my business. Speedily.

Edge is built on the same technology as Chrome, but has the added trust of being a Microsoft product.  Or at least that is what my wife's new Windows 11 laptop was spamming me with as I installed Chrome.
