COMALite J: cretinbob: I guess we now the next target for Webb
The space telescope done by not just one, not just two, but three space agencies covering much of the civilized world. NASA (USA), ESA (Europe), and CSA (China)! So it's the World-Wide Webb!

China has zero involvement with Webb. Indeed they have shown next to zero willingness to take part in collaborations with the U.S. Notice that they are not involved with the ISS or with Artemis. China has their own space station, its own Moon program, and is working on its own space telescopes.

CSA stands for the Canadian Space Agency.

PirateKing: What a wild coincidence that this star had the same name as the star in the Lord of the Rings. That's amazing!

Yeah, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is gonna be fun tonight.

Big J also refers to himself as morning star in Revelation: "I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star." Satan was the old-and-busted, Big J was the new hotness.

Earendel is a figure in Germanic mythology associated with dawn. The name was adapted for Christian use, with the Old English "Eala Earendel, engla beorhtast" (Tolkien's inspiration) being based on the Latin "O oriens, splendor lucis."

China is blocked by the US from participating in any Western space programs. That's why they have to do everything themselves or with Russia.
