I am perfectly happy with losing to the Peacock tomorrow, if they turn around and end K's career on Final Four Saturday.

/Assuming Arkansas doesn't go all Nolan Richardson on them first

They're the only reason I've been watching any of the tournament.  Everyone likes an underdog.  I don't usually watch college sportsball, but this has been fun.  I was kind of shocked at how bad college teams are at breaking the full court press.

Full court press, eh?  Is that one of the main reasons St. Peter has done so well?

Reminds me of the VCU Rams in 2012 (2010?)...only watched part of the March Madness tourney then and think that is the main reason the Rams won as much as they did back then.

Either way, good for them! :)

The line on that game was Purdue -13.  Purdue never beats anyone by 13; I should have taken St. Peter's (duh).

Wish I put more than $20 on the SP money line!

Had SP and UNC money line, Mia to cover and Kansas to cover on a parlay. Kansas missed it by 2pts. Doh! $10 would have paid back something like $210.

Hah! 2011.
Funny you mention that, Mrs Mole's FB popped this up this morning :)
I know how the Peacocks feel, hope the run continues!

St. Peters making it this far is a stupid vapid story about a little school that could, etc etc. It's the same dumb trope that's always foisted off on the poor people while their rights are secretly woven into instruments of oppression while they sleep. What's akshually gonna happen, is they're going to get absolutely crushed by North Carolina, and then we can stop this silly farce.

I had SP, NC, and Iowa St moneylines for a parlay. I was going to use my winnings and buy all of you totalFark for a year and also fund my retirement. But Iowa State was like nah go f*ck yourself we're not showing up for this game.

I watched the last part of the game and was wondering why Edey wasn't playing. I would figure a 7'4" player would be in the game. Did he foul out?

I've met Shaheen Holloway and his wife. Lovely people.

The drama here comes from former Seton Hall coach Kevin Willard, who bolted for Maryland and then suggested Holloway would be a good replacement for him back at Seton Hall. This is poor form, of course, while Holloway is still active in the tournament. But more to the point, I'm starting to think the Terps hired the wrong guy. Holloway played at Seton Hall and it would be a nice homecoming story for him, but I'm sure he would have happily taken the contract that Willard got at Maryland.

He's not the best Center on their team, Trevion Williams is a better option.

2 rebounds, 1 block, 11 points, 0 fouls, 5 turnovers.  65/70% free throw shooter career/season.  Other than points, not super productive and subject to hack a shaq techniques at the end.

He didn't foul out. In fact he had zero fouls. It was weird. I was wondering why he wasn't getting 30 minutes and 20-25 touches. When he had the ball there was nothing St. Peter's could do. He shot 5-7 and the two misses were on him, not because of anything St. Peter's did.

Leaving aside the other dumb shiat that I won't respond to, I note that North Carolina is the lowest seed of any team St. Peter's has faced so far.

Do those two never play together? I don't follow Purdue well enough but Williams is listed as a forward. I do see that their minutes added up to 40, so does that mean one is always in for the other? Could they not do the twin towers thing?

Yeah, Saint Peter's has played all chalk from the 15.  It wasn't even as if they got to sneak past a 10 and/or 11 after beating the 2.  They've done this for real.

Nah, I don't seriously care that much, but my bracket is pretty much broken by now, partly because of these stupid doofus Cinderellas. I'm just mad that I won't win the Grand Canyon Special-Hardened Eddie Bauer Nissan Doublecab Leather-bound ButchTruck so I can move to Arizona and turn lesbian.

No.  A true Purdue fan knew last week we were in trouble and it would be a close game with a good chance if it's losing.

I love Purdue and hope they win it all some day, but like a disappointing partner who always let's you down when it comes to the big moments, we know not to trust Purdue sports.

Purdue is good enough to play the villain on tv but not good enough to be the hero.

So I put "All in on the Peacocks!" as my Facebook status, got a handful of likes, but only one comment so far -- my aunt, saying "I'm afraid I'm going to have to root against the Peacocks in their next game." I won't ask why, because I'm afraid the answer is going to be that she shtupped a UNC player in the 70s and thinks she's famous because of it, though that's not how she would characterize it. I have reason to believe the Tar Heel in question might have been a certain long-time NBA coach who had his greatest success with the Sonics. But I really don't want to know.

(She also claims to have been the inspiration for the song "Sister Golden Hair," and we laugh about it -- yeah, she was a groupie for a no-talent Americana band and that's what they told her.)

They wear "Black Lives Matter" warm up shirts. I would bet a year's salary that's the reason

The only thing I don't like about St Peters is their coach doesn't believe in fouling when up 3 and under 10 seconds.  Purdue nearly tied it at the end.
