plutoniumfeather: One small problem with Earth-based laser drives is there is no way to slow down. So yeah, you get to Mars in 20 days, but flash past in the blink of an eye. Can't linger and make observations.

Do you even Star Trek? All you have to do is reverse the polarity of the laser beam.
